You all know how much I love a good conspiracy theory. Here′s the latest! The headline at Drudge Report links to an article from RT, Russia Television, website claiming that the WikiLeaks emails hacked from Stratfor may indicate that Osama Bin Laden was not buried at sea. That his body was flown to the United States on board a CIA aircraft. Stratfor, a private intelligence consulting firm headquartered in Texas, apparently was hacked and WikiLeaks was given a collection of some 5 million emails, including one from the firm′s vice president, Fred Burton. This email claims that Bin Laden′s body was flown to Dover, Delaware, site of a major military air base for handling overseas flights, and then moved to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Bethesda, Maryland. How about that! Stratfor is being called the ′shadow CIA′ by some.

As we allegedly all know, Osama Bin laden, head of the Al Qaeda terrorist group, was killed by the U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six during a raid staged from Afghanistan on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan back on May 2, 2011. The initial reports, namely from Barack Obama and other Obama administration officials, described the raid as taking some 45 minutes, resulting in several terrorists being killed, including Bin Laden and one of his sons. A secret stealth helicopter used by the SEALs somehow crashed in or near the compound and was partially destroyed, but Pakistan authorities seized and held its valuable debris for more than a week. Once Bin Laden was identified, the SEALs bagged him up and flew away. Bin Laden′s remains were soon flown yet again from Afghanistan to a U.S. aircraft carrier operating in the Indian Ocean. Allegedly, he was given a ′proper′ Islamic burial at sea within 24 hours of his death.

Despite the official story, many people began having doubts about its honesty. Chuck Pfarrer′s book ″SEAL Target Geronimo″ paints a different story. That most of the raid took place in just under two minutes. He calls the 45-minute story a ″Bruce Willis movie.″ Shortly after the raid, we learned that the compound where Bin Laden had apparently been hiding for possibly as long as 3 years was just down the road from the Pakistan military academy, their equivalent to our West Point. The raid caused considerable tension on U.S.-Pakistan relations, especially after Pakistan authorities arrested those who helped tip off the Americans to Bin Laden′s whereabouts.

So whom are we to believe about whether or not Osama Bin Laden being buried at sea? The Barack Obama administration? Not exactly a trustworthy source for honesty about any topic. The Pakistani government? Again, a less than credible source? WikiLeaks? They have an agenda like the other two sources, though what they usually release is interesting. What about the Stratfor email from company vice president, Fred Burton? When you read the whole email from this guy, one has to wonder if he is just bragging or trying to spread his own conspiracy theory? His comparison of this incident to when the Mossad captured Adolph Eichman in Argentina, then was tried for war crimes in Israel, got a death sentence, was executed, cremated and his ashes dumped in the Mediterranean, is a bit disturbing. Especially his reference to Israel as ″The Tribe.″ Not quite sure how to interpret that? Anyway, there it is. Something new to distract us that does not involve birth control or more lurid subjects.
