Is the Saturday Night Live Tim Tebow sketch from this last weekend′s show offensive to Christians? If you watch the SNL Tim Tebow sketch video embedded below, you may judge for yourself. NBC, arguably the most Liberal, far-left leaning network on American television, often allows the cast of SNL, augmented this week with Jimmy Fallon, to poke fun at religion in addition to Republicans, Conservatives, and other aspects of traditional family values. Even the last joke during the SNL Tebow sketch was a jab at Mormonism. As Greg Gutfeld, co-host of ′The Five′ on the Fox News Channel, pointed out today when broaching the topic, he thought the SNL skit about the Muslim Brotherhood was funnier. Of course, Gutfeld was joking, because there was no skit offending Muslims.
During the sketch, the scene is the locker of the Denver Broncos after they won another close game. Jimmy Fallon plays Tim Tebow and prays to Jesus offering thanks for the victory. Behind him the doors open to a bright light and cloudy mist as Jesus, played by Jason Sudeikis, enters the locker room. The Sudeikis-Jesus is somewhat aloof towards the Fallon-Tebow, asking him to tone it down. He then goes on to claim credit for the six-game winning streak, as well as intervening at country music awards, beauty contests and any function that combines food and African-Americans.
Of course, the classic argument is that this is just comedy. Merely entertainment and one is allowed to parody anything for a few laughs. Much like Jimmy Fallon when he had Republican presidential candidate, Michele Bachmann on his late-night show and ridiculed her with music.
While this point may be a valid one, we must also consider the lopsidedness of the attack on Christianity from NBC and Saturday Night Live. Take for example the hit cartoon series, ′South Park′. They, too, will poke fun at Christianity and Judaism frequently. But they also do likewise to Islam, especially one particular episode where they had intended to depict a cartoon of Mohammed. The actual image was censored after they received numerous death threats.
The Far-Left tries to paint themselves as cool and hip in doing these frequent assaults on traditional American values. Anyone who has the slightest hint of trying to live a moral life is fair game for their ire. Tim Tebow is just the latest target as he has become popular with young people and the public at large.
The Saturday Night Live Tim Tebow sketch may appear harmless in itself. The video, available below, shows Jimmy Fallon as the SNL Tim Tebow acting like a five-year old. But when taken into context with all of the other attacks on Christianity which come regularly out of the NBC entertainment machinery, we have to be repulsed by this blatant blasphemy. Even Greg Gutfeld′s fellow co-host on ′The Five″, Bob Beckel, a Liberal Democrat, took exception to the SNL Tebow skit. Even other Liberals may find it disconcerting that so much time and energy is focused on the assault against religion and American values.

The skit doesn’t make fun of Christians, it makes fun of Christians who wear their faith on their sleeve…. like Tebow.
And for Christ’s sake, Tebow’s brand of Christianity isn’t any more American ‘traditional’ than my Catholic style Christianity I grew with. Call it traditional all you want, it aint’ anymore than anything else.

It’s satire but SNL doesn’t have the cajones to take on the Muslims

Faye: Fox should reanimate the “Half Hour News Hour” so they can produce skits that lampoons Muslims and all anything else that tickles at the moment. I’m sure it will be very, very funny.

I’m not the first to point out that jesus gets all the credit when a game gets won but zero of the blame when the team loses.
I guess SNL’s social-commentary of parodying “thank jesus” shoved into everyone’s face during the most asinine occasions is just a little more than some Christians can take– the sketch is pointing out that what you’re saying to all the world is “god thinks this beauty pageant is really important so He divinely intervened”. And when it came down to it, “god wasn’t on your side, losers.”
If this sketch is half as offensive to Christians as all the “Thank Jesus for my Touchdown” barrages are to me, well, welcome to the first amendment.

SNL did numerous skits on Saddam, Osama and even Arafat back in the day.
I also think Tebow would have found the skit amusing. It certainly did not have any content that would be deemed offensive unless someone were looking really, really hard.

So a skit about Christianity is an “assault”?
What part of the skit was demeaining or even mean-spirited other than some comments about Tebow’s skill as a quarterback?
I believe one can be Christian and also possess a sense of humor.

The difference between the right and the left is, when we make jokes, it’s only that: jokes. When you make jokes, nations get invaded based on lies, costing thousands of American and hundreds of thousands of civilian lives, grave threats to the world ecosphere are denied via a blizzard of misinformation pushed by billion dollar media conglomerates, world economies fall and are plunged into recession, our precious democracy based on human rights stoops to torture, sacred and hard won knowledge about the origins of life on Earth are demonized in favor of religious superstition, women’s rights are trampled on, elections are rigged, the middle class is raped, and kids put to work as janitors.
And that’s only a start.
I’ll take the left wing jokes any day.
