A couple of new things have occurred concerning the deepening scandal over Operation Fast And Furious, the Obama policy of arming Mexican narco-terrorists that has killed so many. The biggest is, of course, that an official resolution of no confidence has been introduced in the House of Representatives that has more support than any recent no confidence resolution filed against a U.S. Attorney General in a long time.
The resolution (H.R. 490) was filed by Rep. Paul Gosar (R, AZ) who says that Congress needs to “raise awareness” of the failed gunrunning program. Gosar hopes that the resolution will spur needed discussion about the program. He also feels Congress has an important role in determining if an administration is on the right track.
“There is clearly a role for Congress in evaluating executive branch officials,” he continued. “When an executive branch official fails to act in the best interests of the country, acts illegally, or fails to uphold the faith and integrity the duties of the office demand, Congress is more than entitled to express its approbation, disapproval or censure. This resolution does that for the House.”
Matthew Boyle of Daily Caller also makes an interesting note.
Already, far more members have demanded Holder’s resignation than did Gonzales’, yet most media outlets have underplayed the issue. Holder did react harshly when TheDC confronted him a White House event on Nov. 29, alleging that TheDC is somehow “behind” the calls for his resignation and demanding that TheDC stop reporting on them.
So far 55 members of the House, two Senators, two sitting governors, and four GOP candidates for president have called for Holder to resign over his abject failure as Attorney General. But it isn’t just American officials upset at Obama and Holder’s complicity in this murderous program that has contributed to the murders of hundreds of Mexican citizens as well as several Americans (including at least two U.S. law enforcement officers). Mexico’s Attorney General is also incensed over these actions.
A statement released by Mexican Attorney General Marisela Morales said that Obama’s Fast And Furious debacle is “an attack on Mexicans’ security.”
Talk about beginning an impeachment hearing against Eric Holder is also increasing in the House as Obama and the DOJ continue to stonewall, lie, and ignore the investigations into Fast and Furious.
In the meantime, Mary Chastain of Big Journalism notes that the networks are also trying desperately to ignore this deepening scandal. In fact, Chastain notes that NBC has not once mentioned the story in its coverage of the news.

I hope it passes but what will be the real impact of this no confidence vote? Will it result in Holder resigning or being fired?

As much as it pains the right, this is simply not Obama’s “Watergate”.

You are right. No one died because of Watergate. Obama’s killed hundreds here.

Buzz?
Tell us you feel completely fine over the death of Brian Terry…ex-marine and former border agent…..

He probably doesn’t much care about the death of “the pigs,” is my guess, Faye.

Wow, you guys do take this as bloodsport.
How commenting on this not being the equivalent of Watergate is a tacit endorsement of the death of a border agent is certainly some circular reasoning.
My comment is in reference to the “political” cost. How you both arrived at your comment is certainly indicative of a predetermined mindset.

Hey Buzz, its not as if Holders mission is to see this never happens again.
Instead, him and his cronies who did know are playing musical chairs and when the music stops only one will have to accept blame instead of them all.
And you can bet Holder is confident he wont get stuck without a chair.
Hes about as honest as Corzine and gang expecting everyone to believe a billion dollars miraculously disappeared.

The impact is that it keeps our corrupt AG in the news headlines, which is good. Questions get asked in press conferences, etc.
