Indiana lawmaker, Republican Representative Phillip Hinkle, is well-known for being against gay marriage. But this week we have discovered that he tried to arrange a secret rendezvous with a teen boy in a hotel in Indianapolis. Some say he’s a hypocrite. I say, so what? We should back this man all the way.
Apparently 18-year-old Kameryn Gibson posted a listing at the sex-service website Craigslist (well, that’s all it’s really for anymore, let’s face it) and Rep. Hinkle responded saying he was looking for “a really good time.”
Gibson posted that he needed “a suga daddy,” and 47 minutes later, Hinkle responded from his personal email address (not his government account, mind you).
Hinkle offered cash and wanted to meet.
‘Cannot be a long time sugar daddy, but can for tonight. Would you be interested in keeping me company for a while tonight?’
The email offers ‘to make it worth [your] while’ in cash, and offers a personal description: ‘I am an in shape married professional, 5′8″, fit 170 lbs, and love getting and staying naked.’
The meeting did occur but the teen decided he didn’t want to follow through with any actions and, while Hinkle protested, the kid left anyway. Afterward Hinkle and his wife offered the kid money to keep this all quiet.
Rep. Hinkle has not only been vocal about standing against gay marriage, but he’s also been a sponsor of a religious themed license plate bill.
Naturally Democrats in Indiana are calling for his ouster. Heck even GOP Governor Mitch Daniels is saying that Hinkle should resign. But why? There is no reason at all to make Rep. Hinkle resign.
First of all this is just sex. Why do liberals hate gay sex? The kid was 18, so of age meaning that this isn’t child abuse. Besides, liberals and gays are for child sex, so what’s the big deal? Further Hinkle is no hypocrite. He’s against gay marriage, sure, but he wasn’t looking to marry the kid, just “have a really good time” with him. And so what if Hinkle offered the kid cash? Shouldn’t the kid have a right to get free money? What’s wrong with money? And he didn’t do any of this in his government office or use his government facilities or email addresses, so this is his private business!
Hinkle is an upstanding member of the legislature and we should support him 100%.
Wait… are you startled by this? Why should you be? I am just giving the sort of full-throated support of this Republican because he’s on “my side” as liberals would do for any guy like this on their side… like liberals have always done for their guys.
Why should I be different?
I’ll tell you why. It’s because Republicans have integrity, that’s why. When we find a creep like Hinkle we excise him. As voters we stop supporting him. As parents we despise him. As conservatives and religious people we are appalled by him.
So, yes, he should be cast out. The man is scum.
Too bad liberals don’t often react like this when their guys end up being such creeps. Can you say Barney Frank?
