How the lack of logic to these waivers doesn’t just strike everyone as illegitimizing Obamacare is beyond any sensible person to see. But Obama has now allowed a whopping 1,471 of the businesses of his best campaign contributors, advisors, and unions pals to get out of being forced to suffer under Obamacare like the rest of us have to.
ABCs Jake Tapper reported on Friday that Obama has granted an additional 39 waivers just recently and this announcement is “prompting one Republican Senator to introduce legislation that would allow all Americans to apply for a waiver.”
Wyoming Republican John Barrasso said today that he plans to introduce a bill next week that “will deliver choice to Americans who want to get the care they need, from the doctor they want, at a price they can afford” by allowing all Americans to apply for a waiver from the president’s health care law.
“If the law worked well, companies and unions would not demand a way out of its expensive mandates. Each waiver demonstrates that the President’s health care law is a complete failure. The law continues to crush jobs, increase premiums and encourage government controlled health care,” Barrasso said in a written statement. “It’s not fair that a particular group of Americans, including union employees, don’t have to abide by the law. Millions of other Americans across the country deserve the same freedom,” he said.
And why not, eh? If Obama can give his buddies breaks and let them skitter out from under the jobs-killing rules of Obamacare, why can’t the rest of us have that choice?
I mean, aren’t left-wingers always about “choice”?
We aren’t likely t see the end of companies that are going to be allowed to skip Obamacare, either. Companies still have until Sept. 22 to file for their waiver, so more are sure to come.
A look at the list will show an awful lot of unions, all of which spent millions trying to force the rest of us under the iron boot heal of Obama’s death panels! (By the way, the official gov’t webpage has yet to update the list with the new additions.)
So, let’s support Senator Barrasso’s effort to let the rest of us get in on the waiver game like Obama’s buddies can, eh?
Of course, the big question with all this is: if Obamacare is so great for everyone why is business after business finding that they need waivers? Worse, if Obama thinks Obamacare is so great why is he granting those waivers?

I am all for death panels, if it means death for the right people. That’s, the right people.
But death seems a little harsh. I’ll settle for banishment. Then maybe something good would start to happen for a change.
