This story is just so cool! (Pun intended of course!)

A reindeer herder found a frozen baby 6 month old mammoth frozen in the arctic tundra. The little gal looks like she was just walking the earth days ago…

The article in CNN (via Reuters) states that it is hoped to extract DNA to resurrect the species. I’m not sure that would either work, or be a good idea – (what would a new several ton herding animal herd do to the environment in the Arctic?), but tantilizing nonetheless. Perhaps we’ll soon have a mammal version of Jurrassic Park on an Arctic Island near you soon!
