Melania Trump is Donald Trump’s 3rd wife and could very well become the next First Lady if he runs against Barack Obama and is elected President of the Unirted States. Donald, 64, married Melania, 40, in 2005 and gave birth to his 5th child, Baron William Trump, the following year. Melania Knauss was born in Sevnica, Slovenia and studying architecture and design in school. But after getting her degree, she worked as a model in Europe, then America. Trump’s 1st wife, Ivana, was also from Eastern Europe and had been a model, much like Carla Bruni, wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy. They were married in 1977 and had three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric before the couple divorced in 1992. That was a messy, very public battle that started the year before after his affair with actress Marla Maples became known. Trump married Marla in 1993 and had one daughter, Tiffany. They divorced in 1999.

So could Melania Trump become America’s next First Lady? Well, Donald Trump has been talking more and more about possibly throwing his hair, I mean his hat, in the ring for the 2012 Republican Presidential primaries. He has talked about running before in 2004 and 2008. But to do so in 2004 would have meant competing with an incumbent GOP president, George W. Bush, who was still popular, especially in the Republican Party. Trump was courted by the Reform Party at the time but he decided not to run. Running in 2008 would have meant going up against John McCain, who is a personal friend of ‘The Donald’. Say what you want about Trump, he is loyal to his friends.

But this time around, the indications are looking more and more like Trump will make a run for the White House in 2012. Let′s face it, so far the GOP field of candidates is not very impressive. Mitt Romney, who is barely inching out Trump in some recent polls, has a lot of issues, none the least of which is Mass-Care, the failing health care program in Massachusetts. Romney has been trying to distance himself from comparisons with ObamaCare for nearly two years now and not doing a very good job of it. Many in the Religious Right have issues with Romney being a Mormon. As for Romney being a business genius, that is debatable. The image of a corporate raider, buying companies and then gutting them for resale will not earn much respect.

Another GOP retread considering a run is Newt Gingrich. Like Trump, he has issues with multiple marriages and infidelity. But unlike Trump, Gingrich was a public servant at the time of his philandering. A recent interview found Newt explaining his infidelity away due to reasons like how he worked hard, long hours and loved his country so much he cheated on his wife. Nobody is buying that one! Gingrich also has just too many political skeletons in his closet, too, like the famous ′crybaby′ incident after Clinton put Newt and Bob Dole in the back of Air Force One during the flight to Israel for attending the Yitzhak Rabin funeral. Frankly, Newt jumped the shark when he appeared in a global warming ad with Nancy Pelosi. He′s toast!

As for the rest of the field, the only personality who comes close to equally Trump′s name recognition is Sarah Palin. Trump did well at his appearance at CPAC earlier this year. He is doing well in early straw polls in Iowa and New Hampshire, given that he has yet to declare himself a candidate officially. What it really boils down to now is his willingness to face a national press corps firmly in bed with Obama and whether or not Trump can get the Tea Party to support him. On that score, he has probably the best chance of anyone other than Palin. Unlike Palin, Trump would probably have an easier time getting Independent voters and others who are just fed up with politicians in general. The anti-incumbent fever is still alive and well in the heartland.

So Melania Trump, third wife of Donald Trump, stands a pretty good chance at becoming our next First Lady. She would definitely be a plus, much like Carla Bruni is as wife to French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Just from a general perspective, Melania seems to ′have it together′ much more so than Donald′s first two wives, Ivana and Marla Maples. Naturally, it goes without saying that Melania Trump would be a better First Lady than Michelle Obama, too. So if Donald Trump does run against Barack Obama, get ready for a touch of class and glamor to be returned to the White House, on a scale not seen since Jackie Kennedy.
