RightPundits will carry the Obama Libya speech live feed as well as host a live chat blog for those whom wish to make their comments known. The speech takes place tonight at 7:30pm. President Barack Obama will address the American people from the National Defense University on the conflict in Libya. Known as Operation Odyssey Dawn, the U.S. and NATO lead a coalition of forces, currently enforcing a No-Fly Zone over Libya, as well as attacking ground troops belonging to Muammar al-Qaddafi. The live-chat will begin at 7pm EDT and will last at least two hours and possibly longer if you, the audience, demand it! Obama′s speech is expected to last only 25 minutes or so.
Many people believe that President Obama has dropped the ball on Libya. For more than two weeks during the initial unrest, Obama did nothing beyond make a few statements. Only after the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution on March 17 was any action taken.
The resolution itself is being called into question by many governments, including Russia and China. Originally, it called for just providing humanitarian protection for the Libyan rebels from Qaddafi. However, the military operation certainly has appeared to have been expended to taking sides in a rebellion/civil war. Rebel forces are steadily driving westward across Libya as airstrikes hammer away at Qaddafi′s army.
As we watch the Obama Libya speech live feed here tonight at RightPundits, feel free to also join us at our live chat blog, too! President Obama will speak tonight from the National Defense University in Washington, DC starting at approximately 7:30pm EDT. Our live chat blog will begin at 7pm EDT, and should last at least 2 hours, or longer. Will Obama explain our mission and objectives tonight? Or will he leave us even more confused than ever? Be sure and watch the fun here tonight at RightPundits!

True, Hondo,
But The Bible tells us that there must be witnesses when the devil makes his move…

Okay, we’re open for biz on the live blog!

Let me go out on a limb here and predict that his address (regardless of what he says) might not be well-received on this site.
Yeah, I think that is a pretty safe bet.
March 28th, 2011 at 3:12 pm
Okay– 15 minutes in and I have to say this is pretty pathetic. All he has to say is this:
“The right wing said I should attack Libya, and I’m a big p*ssy who needs right wing approval, so I did.”

Sounds like trying to win us over for his cause. We have people out of work, jobs going overseas, illegals crossing the boarder at will, and our government not doing anything about this, I say hell yes lets get our nose in something we have no business about again. so that the rich will become richer and nobody gives a eff about the American Dream we are all promised.

Great link to a video showing partial retribution for for the guy who had to jump out of the 100th floor of the world trade center. There will be tears at Christmas time at Abdul’s house. Ba Da Bing.

Isn’t that video from the troops that were sentenced to 20 years in jail for repeatedly picking Afghans at random and shooting them out of sheer boredom and then scattering hand grenades and claiming they were attacked?
Their commanders, however, received no punishment.
Of course, one of the soldiers would never would have been accepted into the service even a few years ago as he had been convicted of numerous crimes outside of Wasilla (yeah that Wasilla) in the years preceding his induction into the Army.
Of course these soldiers have been put into an impossible situation. As they stated, we were sent to kill the “Taliban”, but we patrol during the daytime and they work at night, so we never engaged the enemy.
Let’s just wrap up this silly engagement as it has lasted twice as long as WWII and there is certainly no end in sight.
We are fighting the children of the people who fought the Soviets for 20 years (and bankrupted them) and someone will be fighting their grandchildren.

Russia’s against it? China’s against it? All of YOU are against it?
He MUST have done the right thing.

Buzz,
War is unmitigated cruelty and should be avoided. If it can’t be avoided then prosecute it with the utmost cruelty and get it over with asap. Kennedy and Johnson, Bush and Obama are fools and their foolishness has cost us lives and treasure. The dogs of war are again straining at the leash. The world is a dangerous place and the American public is unprepared for the next big one. Stand by…….

You hit the nail on the head, buzzbee, in your Comment #5. The only speech that Obama will one day make that MIGHT, mind you, MIGHT get some positive response here is when he leaves office. But my guess is even then he’ll still lie, and lie, and lie…
March 29th, 2011 at 3:11 am
At the live-blog, we had a poll question whether or not Obama would use the word “WAR”. The results were 80% – NO. 20% – YES.
Needless to say, the NOs accurately predicted the outcome.
March 29th, 2011 at 4:05 am
If it was former President Bush saying this same exact speech word for word, ohhhhhhh boy, forget about it, there would be riots in the streets, outrage on cable news, and liberal loons losing their bearing everywhere.
This same speech sounds like something former President Bush would have said, the only difference is that obama has a nobel peace prize, Bush didn’t. The way obama describes Gadafi’s actions sounds the same for saddam hussein. The only difference is that Bush had legitimate reasons, obama doesn’t. Most of the countries he named in the coalition get oil from Libya, what a sucka!

This guy is a friggin’ joke man!

First of all they should answer the question about Kadhafi’s future. If they repeat the mistakes made after the Gulf war when the responsibilities were put directly into the hands of the Iraqi people and Hussein regained all his powers the situation could happen also with Kadhafi.
March 31st, 2011 at 6:10 pm
Now that we’re committed to this CIVIL WAR in Libya obama better hope he’s successful or this will be taken as a sign of weakness and the terrorists will believe they are invinceable, unlike Iraq where Bush was successful the terrorists and those troublemakers in the Middle East like Iran seen Bush’s sucesses as a sign of strength.
P.S. I believe 44 years ago today President Johnson ordered the first American combat troops into Vietnam, obama doesn’t know what the hell he is doing!
