I had the opportunity to spend a few minutes with Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour at CPAC last night. Barbour is one of the most successful Governor’s in America today, but the hard question I had for him was this: how can a white guy from the south beat the first black president.
Barbour hasn’t decided to run yet, but one thing is sure, Gov. Barbour would be a perfect steward of the federal budget were he to become president. I think he has the skills to lead Congress toward true budget reform.
But can he win?
