James Hansen, the director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), made some wild rants while visiting China last November. Hansen is a noted proponent of man-made global warming. In fact, one could describe him as a warming-alarmist. When he’s not busy being arrested with Darryl Hannah protesting the coal industry, you can bet he’s saying something crazy about the science, and politics, of climate change. Statements made during his trip to China seem to show that James Hansen is fed-up with democracy, as American voters in November swept into office people who disagree with Hansen.

james hansen anti democratic rant
NASA’s Dr. James Hansen, pro-Global Warming advocate, thinks American democracy is “dysfunctional” and needs to be circumvented.

Hansen reportedly said that compared to China, we Americans are “the barbarians”. That “fossil-money-democracy that now rules the roost”. Hansen is irritated that the American people had the nerve to vote Republican and shelf any prospects for getting the carbon tax and cap legislation passed, and described democracy in the U.S, as “dysfunctional”. He said “I have the impression that Chinese leadership takes a long view, perhaps because of the long history of their culture, in contrast to the West with its short election cycles. At the same time, China has the capacity to implement policy decisions rapidly. The leaders seem to seek the best technical information and do not brand as a hoax that which is inconvenient.”

Oh really?! I suppose James Hansen either forgot or is ignoring how China is building coal-burning power plants like there is no tomorrow. The very thing he urges President Barack Obama to abolish via government decree. Hansen has been playing fast and loose with the facts for decades, having championed the cause saying that the period between 1995 and 2005 was the hottest in history. That global mean average temperatures were rising dramatically. Actually, while ground-based weather stations, subject to issues like urban heat islands, showed warming, the more reliable and accurate satellite-based observations tell a different story, that the Earth is cooling.

But James Hansen does not permit the facts to interfere with his agenda. For matter, he doesn’t think democracy should, either. Hansen now supports using the World Trade Organization (WTO) to force America to accept carbon taxes. To impose carbon fees on products as they cross borders from nations that do not have a carbon tax. Hansen said “The United States then would be forced to make a choice. It could either address its fossil-fuel addiction … or … accept continual descent into second-rate and third-rate economic well-being.” So, Hansen wants the WTO to bully America into accepting his enlightened policies.

James Hansen has been pushing his man-made global warming theories for decades. Despite his dire warnings of Manhattan being submerged and the seas boiling fish, none of that has happened. While pollution is a ‘real’ problem, Hansen continues to rant and rave on his views. One has to wonder if the director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies is actually doing ‘real’ science, or just feeding Warmist-devotees with more subject for his latest book, “Storms of My Grandchildren: The Truth about the Coming Climate Catastrophe and Our last Chance to Save Humanity”. With a title like that, is it any wonder? Apparently, ‘Dr.’ Hansen thinks American democracy needs a doctor, or a dictator, to save us from ourselves.
