Today, Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, sentenced to prison for conspiracy to commit money laundering, said that he doesn’t feel remorseful for something he doesn’t think he did.


The Hammer, as he was known in Congress, was convicted of conspiracy and money laundering back in November. He was taken into custody but will be released on $10,000 dollars bond pending an appeal.

Prosecutors had hoped that Tom DeLay would go to prison immediately. However, the judge in the case opted to allow DeLay to post bail. DeLay was also sentenced to 10 years of community supervision for a money laundering conviction.

DeLay was forced to resign from the House of Representatives in 2005 amidst an investigation into campaign finances. He recently appeared on Dancing with the Stars. Now, Tom DeLay is sentenced to prison.
