For your viewing pleasure, one more reason to love New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Brian Aitken’s sentence has been commuted to time served by the Governor. As you’ll recall, Christie had promised to look into this ridiculous case before Christmas leaving those of us rooting for Aitken with a glimmer of hope. Five days before Christmas, the hope has arrived.
I posted originally here about the completely senseless case of Brian Aitken who was sentenced to 7 years in prison due to New Jersey’s draconian gun laws and a complete lack of commonsense. Thank goodness Chris Christie is now in the governor’s mansion or else Brian Aitken would be doomed to waste away in prison for the remainder of his over zealous sentence.
Others wonder why Christie didn’t outright pardon Brian Aitken. Good question, but maybe that will come later. The good news is Brian Aitken will be released from prison and will likely be spending the Holidays at home. A full pardon could come later.
Governor Chris Christie commutes Brian Aitken’s sentence to time served and he will be released as “soon as administratively possible.” I’m sure this comes as a great relief for Aitken’s family who have been enduring this nightmare since Aitken was arrested in 2009.

Another great job by the Governor. I guess one MAY be able to say there’s a Reagan every twenty years? I like this guy!
This case was pure nonsense. They threw this guy in jail after he bought guns in Colorado, was in touch with the New Jersey police on the proper transport method, folloed THEIR rules, and was imprisoned for it. What a joke! I wonder if Aitken’s 2nd Ammendment right was violated here…
