Speaking about the Wikileaks scandal, Gingrich said Obama’s Administration is shallow and amateurish. He also said that the leak of so many classified documents is a scandal of the first order saying that the system is stupid to allow a private first class to download so many classified documents.
Newt Gingrich, a possible 2012 presidential contender, says that Julian Assange is engaged in information warfare. He is advocating the swift shut down of the Wikileaks website and the arrest of Assange.
Gingrich went as far as to say that Julian Assange should be treated as an enemy combatant. Heck, the Obama Administration has a hard time treating KSM as an enemy combatant, let alone a guy who downloads documents on a website for a living.
Mr. Gingrich’s use of tough talk by calling Obama shallow and amateurish isn’t exactly news. I mean seriously, haven’t we been saying the same thing for a couple of years now? This whole Wikileaks business would be an embarrassment for most Administrations; you have to have a clue though for it to be an embarrassment. It’s just another example of the utter incompetence of Obama when it comes to national security.
As for Gingrich? In my opinion he’ll just be a distraction if he decides to run for President. Hopefully he’ll stay out of the race, but it’s looking more and more like he’ll run.

I agree, what was a 20 year old private doing with such free access to such a concentrated data base? What skills could he possibly bring to bear? Why on earth would they have thumb drive access attached to the thing? Only more senior, well known reinlistees, seriously vetted and experienced people have any kind of access to such a data trove. They should not be hiring the cheapest clerk on his first tour to run the thing. They lack planners with a strategic threat view on things. What he did was betray the trust of everyone he worked with and should be treated as such.

No problem Shannon, he’s a loser. He lost early in the 2008 primaries. Good rhetoric but otherwise he’s a wimp.
