Talk about irony! Senator Charles Schumer, the blood-sucking leech from New York, was bitten by a blood-sucking tick. He is undergoing treatment to prevent lyme disease after developing early symptoms.

Schumer recoginzed the symptoms immediately, lending credence to the old saying that “it takes one to know one.”

Lyme disease is transmitted by the black-legged tick, also known as the deer tick.

Symptoms include lethargy, joint pain, fever, limping and loss of appetite. Even after treatment, symptoms can recur in some patients.
