One of the first things that Nancy Pelosi did as Speaker of the House was to create a committee to deal with manmade global warming. One of the first things the new Republican House will do is kill Nancy Pelosi’s climate committee. I just can’t help but snicker just a little.

WASHINGTON - NOVEMBER 17: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), participates in a news conference after attending closed door Democratic leadership elections for the upcoming 112th Congress, November 17, 2010 in Washington, DC. House Democrats elected Pelosi to be their leader in the House with 150 votes, after losing over 60 seats in the mid-term elections the giving control of the house to the Republicans. The purpose of the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming was to highlight scientific data which proves the threat of climate change and to show that cap and trade wouldn’t be a disaster for the economy. Neither of those two things were accomplished. At least in the eyes of those common sense Republicans coming into power.

The top Republican on the committee, James Sensenbrenner wanted to keep the committee going to act as a watchdog on particularly dangerous Obama climate change policies. The GOP leadership has opted for the more economical route of disbanding the wasteful committee.

Democrats are aggravated that Pelosi’s climate committee will be junked because they still believe in the myth that manmade global warming is killing our planet. Either that or they feel that perpetuating the hoax is a sure road to higher taxes and regulation under the guise of saving the planet.

Despite the death of Pelosi’s climate committee, cap and trade and global warming will still be used as tools in the democrat arsenal against economic freedom and prosperity.
