First it started with the Tea Party movement. Most recently, the ‘Crash JPMorgan Buy Silver’ movement. Now we have another popular uprising — Crash TSA National Opt-Out Day. Inspired by those immortal words uttered by John Tyner, “Don’t Touch My Junk”, the man who refuses a body scan at the san Diego Airport, air travelers are ready to revolt against the Transportation Security Administration. Led through a website by Brian Sodergren of Opt-OutDay.com, to send a message to lawmakers that we have a right to privacy, a call for all air travelers to refuse to use airport full body scanners the day before Thanksgiving. Instead, waste time for the TSA at airports to do pat-downs. Considered one of the busiest all year for air travel. But it does nor stop there as websites like Gizmodo are publishing leaked naked images from TSA scanners on the Internet. Big Sis Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security Department, has egg on her face as her gadgets and cyberspace collide. We are not guilty until proven innocent!
While the issue in this case is as noble as any other, maintaining one’s privacy in an ever more invasive world, what I find more interesting is the new trend of these popular uprisings. As if now, after the 2010 Mid Term Elections, ‘The People’ now feel more empowered! Americans who truly covet their privacy, their property and the Liberty, are stepping up and taking direct action. It’s the Peace Movement without the drugs and love-beads.
I find this very refreshing. Plus optimistic, too! We are seeing across the board that the Establishment and their System are crumbling away. The People, however, are not running away in fear nor kowtowing to the Powers That Be. Instead, they are striking back in peaceful, non-violent ways to confound and confuse our would-be masters.
This is real revolution at it’s finest! I am very inspired by these sets of actions undertaken by the Citizens. Even those inside the Establishment are starting to realize that ‘The Game’ is over. When the president of the World Bank, Robert Zoellick, starts talking about returning to a gold standard, that is monumental. Fiat currency and the Central Banking System are the enablers of the entire Socialist-Democrat infrastructure.
So I say ‘Power to the People’! Crash TSA National Opt-Out Day! Send Big Sis a message! We are not guilty until proven innocent! Let’s bring the System down one brick at a time. One bad law at a time. One bad bank at time. One bad institution at a time. It took us a century or so of distractions and lies to allow the Progressives to take over. Now that their empire is crumbling, we will be there, the ordinary people, restoring common sense, honor, and yes, faith too, and light the way to a brighter future. A future where we are all individual, unique stones, not molded, uniform bricks made of mud and straw. Dance Mud-Turtles, Dance!

There you go again putting strange images out there…

Yes, “Don’t touch my junk” will go down in history.
Everybody now, “Don’t touch my junk”, Don’t touch my junk”, Don’t touch my junk”……..

It’s also easier to say if you are envisioning Big Sis as your screener. Man or woman.

I wonder if Matt Drudge has a personalized license plate on his car that says “BIG SIS”?

C’mon Andy.
Cant you imagine how viral a campaign like that would go ?
I’d love to see how the msm would report that with a straight face.
Besides, you can never find a decent deli once you’re past security

“It took us a century or so of distractions and lies to allow the Progressives to take over. Now that their empire is crumbling…”
One more reminder that what feeds the Tea Party is the art of revising history through carefully applied amnesia. Exactly who was it who created the TSA again????

@ Timothy
“The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was created as part of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act passed by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President George W. Bush on November 19, 2001. The TSA was originally organized in the U.S. Department of Transportation but was moved to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 25, 2003. The agency is responsible for security in all modes of transportation.”
Keep in mind, much like TARP which was established by the Bush administration, these departments are subjected to ulterior intentions under different leadership.
Assets under TARP were largely recovered by the Bush admin. Not so much with Obama.

I don’t get the point of your verbose post. So, do you want to crash the “Opt Out Day” which implies you are against it or are you FOR the “Opt Out Day”? Your post would imply that your are for it but you are far too verbose to gather any type of meaning. Keep it simple, dude. You are dealing with TSA agents and other simple-minded Americant’s with limited education due to lack of tax funding.

This is my take on new security screening. What if the airport continues its usual protocol (metal detectors, etc…) and allow individual airlines decide what “extra screening” it would like to do? Then, the consumer can decide between convenience and extra security. I think it would work itself out pretty quickly.

These idiots damn well know it’s not little old American ladies using canes, or little toddlers with Binky’s,or for that matter—any of us. It’s ‘them’. And they will get an opt out ( only search the head and neck area) That’s BS at it’s finest.
I’m mad as hell and ain’t gonna take it anymore…as the saying goes.
I hope Opt Out Day is a huge success!

Don’t opt-out, humiliate!
10. “Is your mother proud of you?”
9. “What education level do you need to be a “agent”?”
8. “How many weeks did it take to train you for this?
7. “Are you a defrocked priest by chance”?
6. “Are you required to wash between scrotum’s?
5. “Where’s the happy ending I was promised?”
4. “What can I get if I double your hourly rate?”
3. “Can I buy you a drink? What time do you get off?”
2. “You have such soft hands”
1. “Is there a hand warmer available? A fluffer perhaps?”

@Mark
Absolutely not! Acting childish makes it personal against someone who doesn’t like it anymore than you do. There is no way they can handle so many “enhanced pat downs” on such a busy day and if it makes the news, the TSA will have no choice but to hear that we do not approve.

@ Nic
Point well taken, I may rename this article “National Opt-Out Day – Crash TSA with Delays”

Ann Coulter, of course, has the rational solution. Abolish the TSA, let the airlines handle their own security. If they blow it, then they go the way of Pan-Am.
More to the point, we need to use “Risk-Based” methods, which means – profiling. There is no reason for anybody to search a 3-year old child of a non-Muslim parent for explosives.
If the Muslims don’t like, and they shouldn’t, then the responsibility is on them to clean up their own religion. While very few are actually engaged in Jihad, depending on the Islamic country, polls show that between 10% to more than 60% support Al Qaeda and their objectives. As long as the average Muslim turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to this, they need to accept the fact that they will be scrutinized more so, particularly on aircraft.
November 17th, 2010 at 9:57 am
Your president just gave CAIR and their women an opt-out. Only head and neck can be searched.
Feeling more secure now?
November 19th, 2010 at 5:58 pm
Would it be illegal to stuff 8-10 ping-pong balls into my underwear before going through airport security?
Maybe use the old Elvis-rumor trick, hanging a 16 inch piece of garden hose down one pants leg…maybe even both?
Or should I just wear a hard cup athletic protector?
Of course, when they explain the procedure before beginning, you could just as “How much extra for a Happy Ending?”
If the TSA wants to ‘have fun’ with me, why can’t I make it more entertaining?

ps: @Andy Z.
Ann Coulter just doesn’t want anyone to see ‘her’ penis – ever notice ‘her’ adam’s apple?
OK, I apologize – that really was a cheap shot.

Chris;”OK, I apologize – that really was a cheap shot.”
That would be believable if you posted it at least a few seconds later.
November 20th, 2010 at 7:50 pm
you all piss and moan, you complain and whine like children, all the while the terrorists laugh at you for being their unwitting dupes and their single greatest asset.
Just once I would like to hear someone offer a better system that is as or more effective.
So whats your specific better plan????
I’m waiting…
November 20th, 2010 at 8:14 pm
Well Rob.
Alot of people including myself have suggested the Israeli model.
But whos gonna listen when production of these machines are contracted to unions ?
Even if we do go with private security firms they’ll still have to abide bt TSA standards…
So, were left with no other choice but to spike the system with salamies and raise holy hell
Or just not fly.
If anyone thinks the economys screwed now, see what happens if this sht of 70% choosing not to fly keeps up.
You’re right, not only are muslims laughing their a$$es of, so is the rest of the planet

In my particular case I am self employed and work for TSA part time. The pay is not too bad, but the benefits are great. It’s my retirement money, my savings and my health insurance. (My weekly pay I make myself)
I am proud to serve my country with Homeland Security (TSA) – every day that I go to work I know I am protecting you all, and allowing you to your rights as a citizen to travel un-inturrupted.
We at TSA are not your enemies. We would love for you to go back to simply walking through a metal detector. We ourselves travel and are subject to the exact same security you are. We get no ‘free pass’ when we travel. A pat-down is just another part of our mission, one WE wish were not needed too !
Unfortunately the psychos and terrorists of this world devise ways to defeat each security standard we use… (the shoe bomber, the underwear bomber, the plot to mix liquid explosives on the plane, etc etc etc)
The way many of us look at it is like this… we do not pat you down becasue we think ‘every one of you has something to hide’ – quite the opposite… we realize your mostly all just honest decent people. Instead, we check everyone … looking for that ONE nut-job out of a million who wants to do YOU harm. We never know which person coming in is the next ’shoe bomber’ or who has plastic explosives in their underoos – and yes the news has shown us there are these whack-jobs out there.
I have heard so many things in these blogs that are so completely inaccurate that it boggles my mind. Perhaps its better you all remain blissfully ignorant, therefore the bad guys remain in the dark too. who knows.
In closing, please keep in mind the INTENTIONS of us at the TSA. Our one goal is to allow you to travel without ‘incident’. We want your brothers and sisters to come and go, your mothers and fathers to have that great trip they saved for, your children to get to that school trip safely, your families to enjoy that Disney vacation, your mothers and fathers to get to that business meeting.
We care for you American citizens deeply and if Washington says a pat-down or body scan is needed, perhaps… just perhaps it truly is.
Why is no-one angry at the terrorists for creating all this?
Peace.
November 20th, 2010 at 8:27 pm
I keep hearing about the “Israel Model” what EXACTLY are they doing (step by step) that everyone thinks is so much better? Do they not have pat-downs or bady scanners???
November 20th, 2010 at 8:40 pm
Its been great to leave my two cents here, thanks all, for hearing me out.
One last thought.
The Crash TSA day will have little effect on us officers. At best you’ll delay the American public a little and piss them off (at you)
You underestimate the resiliency and strength of Homeland Security and the amazing people I work with each day. Even with the news media tripping over themselves to make a mountain out of an ant-hill and to create a story where there really isn’t one, the end result is we will not be phased one bit.
All your doing is sharpening our skills. Since part of our pay is based on PASS (pay for performance)…. well, figure it out
You are indirectly helping us.
To all you passengers who may be delayed and inconvenienced… your all smart folks, you know who created this. Tell THEM what you think.

Rob – I appreciate your comments and while I believe that most TSA agents work hard to do the right thing, the reality is that the naked body scanners and pat downs are not as effective as big Sis states. The problem is these scanners can’t find items which have a low density, such as powder, many liquids or thin plastics. They can’t detect any object having the same or lower density than clothing. They can’t detect explosives in the form of a fine powder like that used in the attempted bombing of Flight 253. Neither the backscatter x-ray or MMW scanner could have detected the “Panty Bomber’s” explosive in the airport. They can’t detect a stick of C4 hidden in a body cavity.
There ARE other methods of screening that are far more effective and not invasive at all including bomb sniffing dogs, profiling, and other types of non invasive scanners. We’re not using these alternative methods because key individuals with our government are getting rich off of the companies manufacturing the naked body scanners. Follow the money my friend.
