Fox News host Glenn Beck is under fire over a Holocaust remark made during his George Soros series, ‘The Puppet Master’. Who is George Soros? A billionaire who donates large sums of money to left-wing groups and media, which has Glenn Beck up in arms. The Glenn Beck – George Soros feud hit a high watermark this week. Comments made by Glenn Beck about George Soros and his activities during the Holocaust have drawn fire from many, including the Anti-Defamation League. The ADL is a Jewish organization that defends against anti-Semitism.
The specific remarks made by Beck was as Glenn discussed the activities of George Soros as a 14 year old boy in Hungary. Occupied by Nazi Germany, Soros, himself a Jew by birth, was recruited by the Nazis to clean out homes and apartments vacated by Jews sent to a concentration camp, a fact which is true. Beck described Soros as a “Jewish boy helping send the Jews to the death camps.” Beck did add that he, himself, could not imagine what it must have been like back then trying to survive.
The war between Soros and Beck has been heating up steadily the past year, if not two years. Shortly after joining Fox News, ‘The Glenn Beck Show’, which airs at 5pm EST and dominates the cable news ratings, came under heavy attack. Various groups ranging from ACORN, Sojourners (both funded with contributions from Soros and his ‘charitable’ organizations) plus unions like SEIU and the AFL-CIO. The White House has even taken shots at Beck after his airing of old video and other material caused Van Jones to resign as the ‘Green Jobs Czar’. Organized efforts have forced many advertisers to boycott Beck’s hour.
ADL National Director, Abraham Foxman, says the Beck’s remarks about George Soros were “inappropriate, offensive, and over the top”. However, it should be noted that Foxman also believes that Glenn Beck is a strong supporter of the state of Israel and of the Jewish people. On October 22 of this year, Foxman sent an official letter from his ADL office to Beck praising Glenn for his support. At the time, some ADL supporters were circulating a direct-mail letter listing Beck among other celebrities who have made anti-Semitic statements. Foxman offered his person apology to Glenn Beck for any misunderstanding.
So did Beck cross the line? I suppose that is a matter of opinion. Saying such about Soros, in my personal opinion, was justified. The guy’s a skunk! Sometimes being honest means being brutally honest. I suspect that Beck will apologize to the ADL and anybody else, other than Soros, for making the remark. He may even apologize to Soros on his TV show. Glenn Beck has the moral character to humble himself when called for. He’s made mistakes before and acted accordingly.
We’ll see what the outcome of Glenn Beck under fire for Holocaust remarks about George Soros on Monday, probably. The Fox News host will certainly say something at the beginning of his show. Glenn Beck has been talking all week about ‘The Puppet Master’, who is George Soros, according to Beck. The feud between Glenn Beck and George Soros has been heating up the past few months and this will almost certainly not be the last word on this subject.

Beck invited Soros to march side by side thru the streets of Israel and see who got the warmest reception.
That would determine whos crossed the line.
I imagine in second Soros would be thrown across the line into Gaza, where they just love Jews who embrace atheism.
I understand he was a 14 year old doing what he had to survive. But, at a certain point you’d think he’d man up and show some remorse even if his mom was a self loathing Jew.

Vicki1790580, have you researched anything that Beck has been talking about? Perhaps you need to. I have researched every single word that Beck has said and guess what? He is right on every single statement. If you seek you will find. Don’t be so quick to dismiss Beck. Beck challenges his audience to do their own research and to “not take his word for it, but find out for ourselves”. Well have you done one ounce of research? I beleive Beck has uncovered a major issue and for me at least has answered a lot of questions about why our country is drowning in its own vomit.

Yes. Beck is right on all I’ve known/checked too. I’m sure he, or anybody else, is not always right, but I think he is speaking the truth as he understands it.
I think Beck is trying to do good in saving the exceptionalism of our United States.
I think Soros is fundamentally trying to change it into something much, much less.
Someday Beck will make a mistake, maybe even a big one, which proves he’s human. I don’t trust many people in the media, but I trust his intentions, which for me that alone puts him above almost everyone else in the media.

Glenn Beck is a liar. His “Puppet Master” spiel is one big lie from beginning to end. Glenn Beck is a very dangerous individual. His rhetoric incites hatred and violence.
THIS is the truth.
I just do not know what to think when a media organization as big as Fox can do something like this. Where is it going to end? It is a dangerous game to play. What Glenn Beck does stretches the boundaries of free speech.
What it gets down to is this: Glenn Beck is a true stirrer up of strife. He is doing something evil. He’s a megalomaniac. Out of all the conservative talking heads out here, saying all those crazy things, Glenn Beck is the one who really takes himself seriously, and it makes me wonder about his sanity. It is scary to watch. I can say honestly that Glenn Beck scares me. He should be taken off the air, before it is too late and something horrific finally happens.

There’s one major problem with the article you posted Rio, it was in error! Beck’s rating did not decline in April and May of 2010 by 24%. They actually went up by 10%!

In fact, Beck’s ratings surged 25% in the all-important demographic of 25-54 year olds. The other Fox News hosts, like O’Reilly and Hannity did drop a bit. But, even if the numbers you cite are correct, which they are not, Beck still “dominates” the 5pm EST time slot on cable news. Chris Matthews, your presumed hero with his tingly leftists thighs, barely draws a quarter of the audience Beck does.
The erroneous numbers cited in the article you posted came from a book, “Common Nonsense” by Alexander Zaitchik. It was a Left-wing anti-Beck hit-piece which was then cited as gospel by Media Matters and the Huffington Post, followed by lazy ‘Journ-O-Lists’ by others in the media, including Bloomberg News.
So give it rest. This is an old story that has been discredited by the facts, unlike the lies routinely published in HuffPo, MM, and DailyKos.

Since the official’s responsibilities included confiscating Jewish properties, Beck implied that Soros had cooperated with the N*zis. In response to Beth, I think George Soros does care. That’s why he’s helped fund the Open Society institutes in totalitarian/communist countries. He funded the Solidarity movement in Poland and the Orange Revolution in Ukraine. There was a British diplomat who once said that there were four people responsible for the fall of communism: Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, Pope John Paul II, and George Soros.

I remember watching Beck once years ago when he was on CNN. After about 15-minutes it was clear to me that this fellow was evil. Even though I do not believe in Lucifer my only description of him to my wife was that he was doing the devil’s work. I have never watched him since. I get glimpses of him when CNN or other news outlets mention his dark ways. The sad part is that he has a following. I guess these people in another moment would have become official devil worshipers or maybe they would have joined a witches coven. This guy is bad news for America.
