Tonight in Atlanta, the Gospel Choice Awards were presented. Pastor Eddie Long, a past recipient, did not appear at the ceremony. However, many of his fellow pastors from the region were in attendance. Watch the video below to see their input into the unraveling situation.
As we recall, Long last week was accused of sexually assaulting four young men. Each of the men had a similar story; in their early teens, either at his school, as a member of his congregation, or as a member of a satellite church they met Long. He offered them money, cars, and trips to exotic locales such as New Zealand or Africa to keep their attention. Then, when they turned 17 or 18, he made more direct sexual overtures to them.
Tonight, the awards as always celebrated gospel music as well as honoring ten pastors from the area. Those honorees were questioned by the media regarding Bishop Long. One of the recipients called for each of them to be silent until all of the evidence has been presented. Others called for prayer for the pastor who finds himself under attack. One of them, Pastor Jasper Williams, Jr.,called for a national day of prayer for Long.
Long was on the guest list for the well-attended affair, but chose to send his regrets instead. Watch the video below.

Well, I got 10 of 10 on this CNN religion quiz. Atheists and agnostics score the highest. Bible belt southerners score the worst. Lets see how the conservatives here do.

A national day of prayer for Long? I have now officially heard everything!

Eddie Long and the four young men are all children of God. We need to keep in prayer all five of them, and not just concentrate on Eddie Long. I believe the four young men have a legitimate story to tell. Emotionalism aside, why don’t more of us read the COMPLAINT–it is public knowledge–and appraise ourselves of the actual alleged facts in this case?!! It may open your eyes.
