In a shameful act of appeasement, Police Chief William Bratton has taken about 60 members of an elite emergency response unit off the streets of L.A. after they swarmed into a park last week and fired rubber bullets at a crowd of hooligans that started hurling bottles and rocks at the officers during a May Day protest.

Bratton said in a televised meeting with a gaggle of journalists, “I’m not going to defend the indefensible,” adding that “Things were done that shouldn’t have been done.” And on this singular point, I tend to agree with Bratton.

The May Day protests should have never happened in the first place. The criminal aliens in our country should be forced to live their lives in fear of being caught, just like any other criminal that being sought by the law, not allowed to gather in mass, on tax payer property, demanding that our politicians grant them the same opportunities and protections that should be reserved for the citizens of this country.

Its one thing to hear mealy-mouthed politicians sucking up to the special interest groups, we sort of expect that kind of nonsense from them, but to have the top cop, especially in one of the largest cities in the country, giving aid and comfort to what are essentially foreign born political extremists , is absolutely unconscionable. Furthermore, if Chief Bratton was truly motivated to suspend, and possibly fire, 60 officers in the name of accountability, maybe he should seriously consider firing himself as well.
