Unless you’ve lived it, the horrors of war are indescribable. But in today’s world we can catch a glimpse into that reality by modern technology. As seen in this video via helmet cam, a British soldier, Lance Corporal Adam Smith is shot in the face by the Taliban in Afghanistan. The video of the British soldier shot in Afghanistan is fairly graphic.

On patrol in the badlands of the Helmand province, B-Company encounters heavy resistance from Taliban fighters. Corporal Smith is seen in the top right corner of the video manning the patrols all purpose machine gun.

As the Taliban onslaught continues, the British soldier is shot in the face. He screams “I’m hit,” as his comrade crawls over to him screaming for a medic. Luckily for Lance Corproal Adam Smith, his wound is a flesh wound and not life threatening. This of course doesn’t make it any less horrifying. Try to imagine lying there on your back, blood on your face, not knowing if you’re going to survive with bullets whizzing all around.

The men of B-Company have lost 9 men in recent days as reported by The Sun. This incident, I hope, will serve as a reminder this independece day weekend that there are fearless souls defending our liberties as we speak.

This weekend as you gather with friends and family take a moment to remember those like Lance Corporal Adam Smith; British soldier shot in Afghanistan and those like him making our way of life possible. Below is another graphic video of a British soldier in Afghanistan who wasn’t as fortunate.
