A 16-year NYPD cop, stalking girls on their way home to school, was busted yesterday after an 11-year old got frightened and alerted her grandparents. Deodhram Singh, 38, is a third-grade detective for the New York Police Department with over a decade on the force. Check out the full story and video below!

Approaching the fifth grader on her way to school Tuesday morning, officer Singh attempted to coax the young victim into his car. He pulled up alongside of her in his pick-up truck and asked her if she wanted to make some money. Nervous, she ignored him and he sped away.

The NYPD cop, staking girls on their way to school, wouldn’t take no for an answer. Turning a corner on the next street, the 11-year old saw his truck approach again.

“Do you want to make money,” he asked again. “How old are you?”

Again he drove away after no response. Agitated now, the girl headed for her Grandparent’s house. He caught up with her on the way there and asked:

“Are you young? Do you want to make $100?”

At that point she ran the rest of the way. Arriving shortly after, her Grandfather was furious with the man and hopped in his car to chase the harasser. Managing to take down his plate number before losing him, the Granddad gave it to police, who tracked Singh down later that day at his home.

Singh told them he was self-employed, and they only found out he was on the force when they fingerprinted him.

“There was no legitimate reason for him to engage in a conversation with an 11-year-old girl, especially since he’s a New York City cop,” said public safety detective James Miller. Instead of panicking, she got right to her grandparents house, got to a safe place, and that’s something we try to stress to children all the time, especially when they’re approached by somebody like this man.”

Given a 30 day suspension without pay and charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child, let’s hope we never see this alleged harasser back in uniform! What do you think of this NYPD cop? Stalking girls on their way to school is a perverse and disturbing action, especially if it’s a man who’s been ‘protecting’ our streets for 16 years. What do you think his punishment should be? Let me know in the comment section! For more on the story, check out the video below!
