Is Rahm Emanuel quitting the White House? While its not all that unusual for a Chief of Staff to not stay on throughout a presidency, the departure of Rahm Emanuel could be a sign of how troubled Obama’s administration has become. Read about it below and see a photo and video.
It is being reported that Rahm Emanuel is quitting the White House following the mid-term elections. Its said that he has grown weary and frustrated with Obama and his inner-circle of ideologues and their unwillingness to ‘bang heads together’ to get things done.
Of course, he is saying he wants to spend more time with his family – the usual explanation given for leaving a high-profile job. Perhaps its just that the rats are jumping ship. I wonder if it has anything to do with his recent trip to Israel for his son’s Bar Mitzvah and the less than enthusiastic welcome he received there. But then, that’s just me.

Frankly, Rahm, I and millions more Americans would just prefer you NOT wake up! Oh yea, take The Kenyan Communist SOB with you – PLEASE.
Unfortunately, those millions of us wake up EVERY morning hating you!

Knowing Obama the replacement could be worse.
Yes, its possible
June 21st, 2010 at 10:38 am
He didn’t look like he was leaving on Meet the Press.. or was it This Week… yesterday, but who knows?
June 21st, 2010 at 10:51 am
The rats are jumping ship.
June 21st, 2010 at 10:54 am
@Micky – regarding a replacement. It’ll be interesting to see if he uses this to turn toward the center like Clinton did or if he stays on his extreme-left path. Who he picks to replace Emanuel will tell a lot about his intentions and his political savvy.

Yeah beth. I guess the word “worse” is subjective.
I’m sure Hillary will be coaching him on her hubbys shift “right” before his re-election

Asked to respond to Palin, White House spokesman Bill Burton noted:
“We’re satisfied that we’re doing everything we can to take care of the folks in the Gulf region,” Burton added, “and if she doesn’t want to own Congressman Barton’s comments, that doesn’t surprise me.”
Bill, you’re as much of a spinmeister as Obe & Rahm. Must be the Kool-Aid you all drink. Nice deflection though from the real message that Sarah tweeted. Rahm – u lie. YPODS

Maybe his boss will follow him out the door.

@Whocares-
We could only hope.

There were fears about Rahm’s type of politics early on. Looks like the “Chicago Way” isn’t working too well inside the beltway.
June 21st, 2010 at 2:51 pm
Rahm’s chief of staff and long-time confidant, Sarah Feinberg, resigned last month. The stage is set for a major reshuffle once the GOP wins back the House and Senate.

I would be disappointed if Rahm left. I get so tired of all this “pull yourself up by your bootstraps crap” that the right wing is always spouting–It’s as if you don’t see what the “DRILL BABY DRILL” attitude has caused to happen in the gulf coast. We have drone airplanes flying around spying on us–a BUSH tactic, and everybody was all for change until they actually got called to the carpet to do it. I am a hardworking, God-Fearing, educated American. I did everything I was supposed to do to live the American dream and the good ole boy right wing system keeps me from it. Some of you people should have looked around before Barack became president. America was SUCKING BIG TIME when he took office, and if you honestly believe that letting these big companies go rogue and do what ever they want, you’re kidding yourselves…..I had plenty of opportunity until George Bush took over–and the soccer mom and her old coot of a running mate sure weren’t trying to fix my problems! But then again, none of the right winged people ever stop to think about the likes of me–An educated woman who works hard and is tired of paying a butt load of taxes so that big companies that don’t want to hire me can get the tax breaks they’ve been getting which are self serving and loathing. Get a grip people and face reality- Barack told you before he was ever elected that it would take years to get us out of the mess that Bush Jr. and his cohorts got us into. It takes a little while to build a house of cards, but only a split second to blow it off the table. I got blown away when BUSH JR. was elected and no one on the right even cares one bit about whether or not I find my way back. “Are the rights their brother’s keeper??” Of course not!

@Whocares – don’t we wish!
June 21st, 2010 at 3:28 pm
@Micky – I’d be willing to bet he won’t shift to the middle no matter what happens. I think he’s enough of an ideologue that he’ll go his own way regardless of what The People want.
June 21st, 2010 at 3:29 pm
I am NOT into conspiracy theories. I think most ppl are too inept to be able to carry them off even if they want to. HOWEVER, I do worry that Obama, Soros and their crowd will have some tricks up their sleeves to TRY to keep him (and them) in power.
June 21st, 2010 at 4:36 pm
@Beth
Yeah, I dont know what was wrong with me.
I guess desperation brings wishful thinking.
==========================
@ Kaye
… are you done yet ?
In your little rant you spoke of reality.
I hate it when people who make up the most profound crap I’ve ever heard start dictating “reality”.
“I would be disappointed if Rahm left.”
Why ? Whats he done that would be missed ? Think hes cute ?
” I get so tired of all this “pull yourself up by your bootstraps crap” that the right wing is always spouting–It’s as if you don’t see what the “DRILL BABY DRILL” attitude has caused to happen in the gulf coast.”
I guess your reality missed the part where Obamas MMS had 18 months to inspect at least one rig ?
Or the part where Clinton dished out the permits for deep water exploration and drilling in the Gulf ?
Or the loony lefty enviros who pushed rigs off shore into deeper water ?
” We have drone airplanes flying around spying on us–a BUSH tactic”
I’ll bet you cant back that up. (Psst, Bush is not president anymore)
“and everybody was all for change until they actually got called to the carpet to do it.”
Whos they ? What kind of change ?
Hell, half Obamas base, even the far left like you are jumping ship because hes pretty much a limp dick or has broken/flipped on every campaign promise.
” I am a hardworking, God-Fearing, educated American. I did everything I was supposed to do to live the American dream and the good ole boy right wing system keeps me from it.”
Hmmm… are you any better off in the last 18 months ?
” Some of you people should have looked around before Barack became president.”
Yeah, before Obama we could look around without seeing oil everywhere.
” America was SUCKING BIG TIME when he took office,”
And now it sucks “all the time”
” and if you honestly believe that letting these big companies go rogue and do what ever they want, you’re kidding yourselve”
Its called private property, a free market, liberty to pursue your dream without being regulated up the a$$ to the point where theres no point but to work for big government.
Maybe you should worry about regulating the government instead of regulating everybodys lives and stuff.
Pick up a book, in your case Atlas Shrugged would be good 101 for you on the dangers of socialism and over regulation.
“I had plenty of opportunity until George Bush took over–and the soccer mom and her old coot of a running mate sure weren’t trying to fix my problems!”
They’re not shrinks
” But then again, none of the right winged people ever stop to think about the likes of me–An educated woman who works hard and is tired of paying a butt load of taxes”
Are you serious ? The Bush tax cuts that you obviously missed in the last 8 years are soon to expire. Just in time for you to count that 13 bucks a week The One gave you so you can start paying 4 years in advance for healthcare you’ll probably never get.
“I got blown away when BUSH JR. was elected and no one on the right even cares one bit about whether or not I find my way back. “Are the rights their brother’s keeper??” Of course not!”
Good grief, are you crying right now ?
The mess the right got us in ?
I got news for you honey.
Were three times more in debt than we were with Bush, triple the deficit and not a damn thing to show for it except the most fcked up ocean I’ve ever seen.
My grandkids and kids arent going to have anything to FIND THEIR WAY BACK TOO YOU SELFISH B*TCH !!!!
June 21st, 2010 at 4:39 pm
Sorry bout calling you a b*tch
June 21st, 2010 at 4:41 pm
@Kaye – if you are tired of paying taxes, then why are you all about Obama and his merry men? The Taxer-in-Chief?
June 21st, 2010 at 5:26 pm
@Beth: HOWEVER, I do worry that Obama, Soros and their crowd will have some tricks up their sleeves to TRY to keep him (and them) in power.
I’ve had that gut feeling since day one…just watch, they are up to something, and none of it good.
June 21st, 2010 at 6:11 pm
“HOWEVER, I do worry that Obama, Soros and their crowd will have some tricks up their sleeves to TRY to keep him (and them) in power.”
I have a feeling that Obama and his gang simply miscalculated. Remember that these people are all academic elitists who only know and associate with people who agree with them.
I believe they thought they had a consensus with the 2008 election when in reality it was more of an anti Bush vote than a pro Obama vote.
If they had something up their sleeves they wouldn’t be trying to push as much crap through as they are prior to November. They’d be moving at a slower pace so as to not upset the electorate and maintain their majorities.
They’re screwed and they know it.
June 21st, 2010 at 6:17 pm
52 people were shot in Chicago over the weekend. 8 were killed. I guess that community organizer thing doesn’t stick.
The mayoral elections are next year and Rahm has expressed a desire to be mayor of Chicago. Could Daley be vulnerable?
Just a bit of advise to Rham. If you run and win, get rid of the handgun ban. It’s not working.
June 21st, 2010 at 6:36 pm
Good points flyingmonkey. Like I said, I don’t really buy into conspiracy theories. But like JoAnne said – sometimes its pretty scary to watch them and wonder what on earth they are thinking. I know that’s not exactly what she said, but …
The point of them being academic elitist is especially valid. I think they didn’t have any idea what actually would happen if they tried to implement the ideas they talk about in their little huddles. Their beliefs and theories are all well and good but reality and real people (Putin, Chavez, Jong Ill, Ahmadinerjacket) have a way of knocking those ideals down.
I hope they DO know they are screwed.
June 21st, 2010 at 6:40 pm
Actually, I’m not sure they do know they’re screwed. A lot of them do. Rahm is apparently jumping ship – but he’s much more of a realist then his boss. Some of the others undoubtedly do. But does Obama and his inner circle of Effete Elite? I’m not sure they do. They are so narcissistic and out of touch that I’m not sure they think they can be touched.
Obama makes one gaffe after the next. He seems to just love the trappings of power, but doesn’t like the actually work that comes with it. When he goes out among The People, he seems completely out of his comfort zone and says all the wrong things. He doesn’t seem to have a clue that he is increasingly becoming an international laughing stock.
June 21st, 2010 at 6:49 pm
@ Beth
You said it better than I could.
BUT !
Even though they may have no concept of being screwed they’re still just a dangerous whether they’re up to anything specifically dynamic or not.
June 21st, 2010 at 6:52 pm
No – actually I didn’t say it better than you could and you are right about them still being dangerous!
