In a move sure to shatter Democrats’ dream of forever walking through the verdant forest singing Kumbaya, Keith Olbermann announced that he will no longer be writing for the Daily Kos. Coming on the heels of the Al and Tipper Gore contretemps, I’m unsure how well the liberals will be able to handle this new turn of events.
Apparently, Olbermann broke the hearts of his Kossian allies by criticizing Obama’s speech on Tuesday night. I guess one of the writers on the website alleged that MSNBC had decided to improve its ratings by pressuring the hosts of its various programs to find some fault with the President, any fault, just some little thing, to lend some semblance of credibility to the station. Olbermann was incensed at this attack and said that he wouldn’t write for a website that harbors conspiracy theories. I guess this was the first time Olbermann had encountered a conspiracy theory there. Either that or this was the first time he found a conspiracy theory that he didn’t agree with. Either way…
However, all is not lost, dear liberal hearts. Keithie promised to return if Kos readers let the site go back to the way it used to be…to a place where they raised their arms together in anticipation of the coming new age when
“…this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth.”
What is left to live for? I assume that in the homes of many of those whose hearts are broken today, whose harmony may have been irreparably shattered, The Way We Were by Barbra is playing on their cd-player on endless repeat mode, as tears are uncontrollably shed.

Wgen is MesSNBC going to just fire Olbermann? That other guy, too, at 6 o’clock, Joe Loudmouth or whatever his name is. He was calling for Obama to become a dictator. He wants to watch Obama put his boot on the throat of BP live on TV. Isn’t that ‘hate speech’?
I found it amusing that the whole MesSNBC panel of regulars were critical of Obama. Some did so purely for maintaining what little journalistic integrity and credibility they may have. Others did so because Obama is not progressive enough, or not revolutionary enough.

Oops, I meant WHEN, not Wgen.

“People still watch MSNBC?”
Sure Ryan. They’re the same people who make the weekly pilgrimage to their local theater to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show and have the new digitalized version of Eating Raoul.

They’re imploding from the inside out.
That makes no sense, but I know what I mean.
Maybe Krugman will leave the Jayson Blair Times.
Can you imagine if Arianna Huffington wrote the way she speaks ?
We’d all be crosseyed
