Several men that were convicted for a slew of rather nasty killings in the city of Kerman, Iran, back in 2002 have had their murder convictions vacated by the Iranian Supreme Court because they are under the impression that Islam condoned the killing of anyone who engages in illicit activities as long as they have been issued two warnings prior to they are put to death.
According to confessions made by the killers shortly after the murders took place, 18 people, possibly more, were killed during a murder spree. The vigilantes, operating under their understanding of Islamic law, stoned, suffocated, and even buried one of their victims alive because the “immoral people had ignored two previous warnings to cease their un-Islamic activities.
I guess its safe to say that the religion of peace has a fairly stringent “three strikes-you’re out policy. After reading about this story, I’ve come to the conclusion that those people I’ve heard from time to time complaining about not being allowed to receive communion and other such penalties for straying from the righteous path seem to be getting off pretty light.

Hey, does that mean if we warn Iran twice to stop building nuclear weapons, we can be absolved of any wrong-doing when we nuke them, based upon our understanding of this ruling on Islamic law?
