Whether you agree or disagree, like or dislike Glenn Beck, you have to ask yourself does he rate the attention of a U.S. Congressman? New York Democrat, Anthony Weiner is among the latest now launching an organized attack against the sneaker-wearing Fox News host. As if the White House, Van Jones, Jim Wallis, NBC-MSNBC-CNBC, Apple Computer and two national unions, SEIU and the AFL-CIO weren’t enough! This time, it’s over one of Glenn’s sponsors, Goldline. So comical is this latest attack that Beck launched a new website, www.weinerfacts.com to poke fun at this moron.

Weiner apparently knows about as much about the precious metals bullion and numismatic market as he does about, well, anything… NOTHING! NADA! ZIP! This guy is so clueless it’s amazing he leaves his home dressed. I suppose we all have his girlfriend to thank for that!

On Tuesday, Weiner staged a press conference denouncing Goldline as a rip-off and as a sponsor of right-wing talk show hosts. At the heart of the Congressman’s allegations is that Goldline over-charges their customers. They apparently have several methods of acquiring the products they offer. Depending on the type of product, and the transaction method the customer prefers to use, Goldline charges between 10% to 36% above the spot price on bullion.

These fees cover both shipping and a guaranteed ‘buy-back’ policy. For example, at the 10% rate, one would pay 5% above the spot price of a precious metal, let’s say gold (I know I sure like saying “GOLD!”), at the time of shipping to you. When you decide to sell it, Goldline will buy your gold back and pay you the spot price, minus 5%. This is nothing unusual and provides some security to the buyer, knowing that they what they’ll get in advance before making a purchase. Clearly not at all like buying stocks, which also carries fees both at the time of a purchase and sale and no guarantee that anybody would want it.

Weiner is well connected, having been a roommate with Jon Stewart of Comedy Central, another Beck-basher and his friends with well-known Liberal gadfly, Ben Affleck. The Congressman was elected to Chucky Schumer’s old 9th District in New York after Schumer ran for the U.S. Senate. Weiner was elected in 1998. In 2005, he made an unsuccessful bid to be the Democrat nominee for New York City Mayor. In 2009, after much speculation, Weiner opted out, avoiding a face off against billionaire Michael Bloomberg. The Federal Elections Commission investigated Weiner. MUR (Matters Under Review) 4995 concerned a financial misconduct involving corporate campaign funds. He paid a fine of $47,000. A second matter, MUR 5429 involved a $28,000 loan his parents made to one of Weiner’s campaign committees.

Glenn Beck launched the website, www.weinerfacts.com to poke fun of Congressman Anthony Weiner. The site quickly was overwhelmed and shut servers down. For a time on Wednesday, it was the #1 item on Google Search! Today, it is still high at #13. Beck not only has Goldline as a sponsor, but is also a customer of theirs. He seems to prefer buying rare, collectable gold coins, as these were exempted when FDR made private ownership of gold bullion illegal on April 5, 1933.

Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 6102 confiscating all gold coins, bullion and certificates. In exchange, people were paid a set price of $20.67 per ounce. FDR later authorized the Treasury and Federal Reserve to issue paper currency based (which was required to be backed by 40% gold) on the exchange arte of $35 an ounce, making the exercise profitable for the Federal Government. FDR based his executive order (EO) on Woodrow Wilson’s “Trading with the Enemies Act” of 1917, which made it illegal to hoard gold. To quiet the angry citizens, FDR included in Section 9 of his EO that anyone who refused could be fined up to $10,000 and be sentenced to prison for up to 10 years. Despite this effort to generate more cash for New Deal projects to stimulate the economy, unemployment still remained at above 15%. Once the short-term inflation subsided, unemployment spiked to nearly 20%.

So hats off to Glenn Beck for his struggles against idiots like Anthony Weiner. Be sure and visit www.weinerfacts.com for a good laugh. And, of course, BUY GOLD and BUY NOW!!!
