Henderson, Nevada police have launched an investigation into Erica Blasberg’s death; the LPGA player was found dead in her home Sunday according to a statement released by her agent and local authorities. LPGA player Erica Blasberg dead; she was 25.

According to police spokesman Keith Paul, a 911 call was made from Blasberg’s residence on Sunday afternoon. The caller’s identity was not disclosed, that apparently is part of the investigation. Blasberg’s agent confirmed her death but didn’t give details pending the outcome of the investigation.

Erica Blasberg’s death has rocked the LPGA world. Although she hadn’t been on tour long she was considered one of the bright young talents in women’s golf. Erica Blasberg played golf for the University of Arizona before turning pro in 2004.

There do appear to be suspicious circumstances surrounding Erica Blasberg’s death. An LPGA event was scheduled in Alabama that Blasberg was scheduled to compete in. An AP report (see video below) says that her bags were packed and she was due to leave her home Sunday for Alabama.

Blasberg’s father says that there were no obvious signs of trauma to her body and an autopsy has been performed as well. Nevada police are not saying anything about Erica Blasberg’s death until the investigation is complete.
