I have been a strident critic of the Bush administration’s strategy in Iraq. Anyone who reads this blog knows that is true. However, in terms of handling the economy, the Bush team has been exemplary. It is almost impossible to argue the point anymore. Please reference the Reuters article concerning the deficit. Not that it is easy to find. After all, they are not referring to a democrat.

Here are the facts:
1. Unemployment at 4.5%.
2. Jobs growth virtually every month for the last 3 years.
3. Real wage growth at 2.8% over the past 2 years.
4. A rapidly decreasing deficit. Bush has already hit his goal that was set for 2009.
5. All of this in spite of inheriting a recession from Clinton/Gore. I apologize to my liberal friends. That is a true point. Go do some research on CNN/Money (a real liberal think tank there) for verification of that point. In addition the economy has overcome the tragedies of 9/11 and Katrina.

If this had happened in the Clinton era, the msm would be ready to appoint him to a kingship.

How did this virtually unreported (at least by the msm) economic miracle occur? It happened because President Bush had the guts in 2000 to ignore the polls and make tax cuts to individuals and small businesses a priority in his campaign. He then performed an act that is almost unheard of in politics these days. He followed up with his campaign promises by vigorously pushing his agenda through congress. Imagine what could have happened to our economy if the old tax system was in place after 9/11 and Katrina. I will give George W. Bush the credit he deserves for the United State’s solid economy.

Did anyone see Senator Vitter’s endorsement of Rudy Giuliani? A conservative endorsing a moderate. Please take note how Rudy, unlike McCain, did not try and change his positions to please the person he was speaking with.
