The idea that there’s something wrong with, unusual, or telling about Palin’s having scribbled a note on her hand for a speech is absurd. There is no comparison between a couple of words written on one’s hand to remind oneself not to forget something (which is undoubtedly why she did it) and the constant use of a teleprompter — even for a speech to a bunch of elementary school kids.
Palin is no orator. Obama is. But those who aren’t foolish enough to fall for a smooth-talkin dude know that speaking skills aren’t everything. Moreover, there’s nothing genuine about using a teleprompter. A monkey can read from a teleprompter.
Palin may not sound polished when she speaks, but she speaks from the heart. I suspect she’d rather trip over her words and come across as authentic than read from a screen and sound eloquent. At least this way Americans know she’s for real, and that’s what she’s banking on.

Suzanne,
“A monkey can read from a teleprompter.”
You realize of course, that to the mind of a liberal who needs to victimize minorities, this statement will be construed as your being some sort of racist.
No worries. Those of us with real intelligence see it for what it is: a common phrase meant to illustrate that it takes no brain power or character to read a teleprompter. Hey, if you said a “caveman could do it”, would the evolutionists get their panties in a bunch?
We get it. Nicely done, Suzanne.
February 8th, 2010 at 7:34 am
That is fascinating. Do you know I had to read your first paragraph several times to realize what you meant? Seriously.
Because like Chris Matthews, I forgot Obama was black. The parallel didn’t even enter my mind.
February 8th, 2010 at 7:47 am
@Suzanne,
Just getting you prepped for the cliched attacks I’m sure will be coming.
February 8th, 2010 at 8:05 am
There IS nothing wrong with crib notes … or a teleprompter. There IS something wrong with a person that uses one and then criticizes the use of the other … actual it’s pathetic and what’s worse is when you need notes just to remember three words – at least a teleprompter is used for a significant statement.
Sorry but you girl is no leader.
February 8th, 2010 at 8:06 am
awww. poh wittle weepubwicans can’t defend her after she mocked obama for teleprompter use. the reason it doesn’t matter that obama reads a teleprompter is because nobody questions whether or not his IQ is above 90.
February 8th, 2010 at 8:14 am
Right on!!! The news media and now the lefties just needed something new to attack her with. If they just go back and read the transcript they could see she doesn’t want to run for President but use the Lefties fear of her to tell it like it is. Truth and her ablity to rally the rest of Americans to wake up and see what Barry Obama and his fine friends have done to this country.
February 8th, 2010 at 8:21 am
The purpose of writing words down is to remind yourself to cover those topics.
Palin could use a teleprompter if she chose to and she’d no doubt sound more eloquent; all you have to do is read and make various gestures.
I wonder what Obama would sound like if he tried it Palin’s way: off the cuff.
February 8th, 2010 at 8:23 am
Suzanne, I believe Palin said on Fox News that she wasn’t ruling out a run for prez, no?
February 8th, 2010 at 8:26 am
By the way, for those who think Palin is “my girl,” please visit my blog, No Bull Mom, and type Sarah Palin in the search box. I doubt you’ll be able to refer to me as a Republican afterward.
I’m an independent conservative in every way. I don’t even have a religious affilation because I’m so wary of groupthink.
February 8th, 2010 at 8:38 am
There is nothing wrong with using notes when you give public speeches, but writing them on your hand is immature and tacky. I would be laughed out of the conference room if I read from notes on my hand during a debriefing. If president, will she scribble on her hand to prepare for meetings with heads of state? Face it: no one with half a brain (or any education) will vote for this woman.
February 8th, 2010 at 8:42 am
As an independant, I would tell you that your so-called “Lefties” would love Palin to be the Republican candidate in the next election. I don’t think there is any fear involved what-so-ever
February 8th, 2010 at 8:58 am
Why would she run for this office??? I think she knows how the media would handle it. Just let her keep rallying the troops.
February 8th, 2010 at 9:03 am
Good question. She’d run for office because the rabble she’s rousing will lead her to believe that she’s got a shot. She clearly thrives on the adoration. And profits off it, too.
February 8th, 2010 at 9:08 am
It still amazes me that we spend soo much time worrying about who uses what to make a speech. A speech is just words, it does not matter if we remember them, write notes about them, or read them from a teleprompter, they are still just words. The proof is in the action, or lack there of. Like a friend once said, ” I would rather see a good sermon than here one”
February 8th, 2010 at 9:08 am
hear even
February 8th, 2010 at 9:13 am
Who can confrim she had crib notes? and why does it matter. The fear is not Sarah Palin running for president but the true words comeing out of her mouth over and over so the people who were so taken with Obama can hear them. I think Sarah Palin knows this is bigger then just her, It’s about this Country.
February 8th, 2010 at 9:13 am
I’m with Katherine on this one. No one with half a brain would ever vote for this ingorant woman. She continues to hold up to the nick name Sarah Failin by continuing to put herself out there. The only thing Sarah Failin can run is her mouth. I can’t wait until she does something stupid again. Mark my words, she will.
P.S.
Suzanne get your head out of your rear because there is no way to twist this into something that is worthy of explanation. You and Sarah should both shut your mouths for once.
February 8th, 2010 at 9:14 am
Palin using her hands to remind herself of what to say is amateur. She’s no longer a freshmen in college!
February 8th, 2010 at 9:26 am
Are you people so blind as to what is happening to this country. When other countrys wonder what has happened and how did Obama get in office and why?? I know this is useless, you all have your own mind set, but for one hour of your time really think about what direction OUR country is going in and do you really think its for the best
February 8th, 2010 at 9:35 am
Wow, it amazes me that people give her the time of day. I didn’t agree with her in the first place but after she quit her job as gov. that should have been the writing on the wall for those of you who follow her. She is not a serious candidate for anything.
February 8th, 2010 at 9:39 am
Dear Suzanne,
You went to college right?, Did it take you 6 years and 5 colleges? Do you think you are qualified to lead this Nation?
Personally, I think Obama is trying more than any other president in my life time, instead of just riding the wave he is trying to actually do something, and that is CHANGE. Sarah Palin is a Joke. WE need some real intelligence from the GOP not the obstructionism we have all seen. To think that this poor excuse for a mother and quitter is somehow qualified to be a Maid to the most powerful office on the Globe is by itself stretching. Obama got in because he is SMART and everything he has said are things that needed to be approached my whole life and democrat and republican alike would campaign on it and once elected never talk about it again. We all know that GOP is frantically looking for a leader and some real direction. The GOP has been a joke for 9 years but if this woman even gets a nomination, it will remain a joke.
Sarah Palin / Kelly Pickler 2012
Best that the can muster? Prove me wrong.

“Hey, if you said a “caveman could do it”, would the evolutionists get their panties in a bunch? ‘
maybe not but how many times have moonbats called us conservatives neanderthals ?
February 8th, 2010 at 9:47 am
ricknc, well said I couldn’t agree more!
February 8th, 2010 at 9:57 am
And its to you Rick NC why this country is so divided. Why be so nasty? is it because you hide your face so Americans won’t know its you. Take pot shots at People who are just trying to make a difference. So heres one for you, try READING
February 8th, 2010 at 10:20 am
EVERYONE wants to make a difference. Some of us happen to believe that Obama does, too. Would you go so far as to say that we’re absolutely wrong, just because you don’t agree? You’re the one who’s writing and blogging, so the onus is on you to keep cool, especially when others won’t.
