2010 movies

This is a Right Pundits open talk thread where you can discuss this topic or any other in the comments. I am talking about the 2010 movies to watch and how a mismanaged economy has led to a new Hollywood boom.

During the Great Depression the American movie industry boomed, emerging from the silent movie era of mostly slapstick humor and technical novelties. It was in the 1930s that the cinema became an integral part of our American culture which began to value entertainment distractions as much as the ancient Romans.

It seemed that a star was made every minute, and their larger than life images were the medicine we needed to get through the rough times. We owe Herbert Hoover that interesting legacy for mismanaging the economy. The truth is that incompetence in the White House helped elevate the careers of Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, W.C. Fields, Myrna Loy, Shirley Temple, and others.

History has an interesting way of repeating itself. Americans once again need an escape from the Obama recession which is why 2009 was one of the biggest years on record for box office take. The 2010 movies are expected to set yet another earnings record collectively so let’s review what we expect to be the biggest hits of the season, ranked in order of appearance.
