What the heck is it with thugs and tyrants? Despite their inclination to control and rule over everyone and everything, they seem to have an affinity to tell you how to live a long and healthy life. Vladimir Putin’s Hip-Hop party speech about healthy living comes on the same day his buddy Hugo Chavez’s diet techniques hits the air.

Vladimir Putin 264

The KGB’s favorite son Vladimir Putin attended the “Battle for Respect” awards for Hip-Hop, an awards show presented by Muz TV; the Russian equivalent of MTV. The Hip-Hop crowd was so pumped to see Putin that they chanted “Respect Vladimir Vladimirovich”.

Evidently Hip-Hop in Russia has the same stigma that it does here in the States, you know the whole violence, money, women are ho’s thing. Putin came on stage to present some of the awards and had a little Hip-Hop party all of his own.

Vladimir Putin’s Hip-Hop party came complete with the obligatory stay off drugs spiel. When he took the stage he told them:

“I do not think that ‘top-rock’ or ‘down-rock’ breakdance technique is compatible with alcohol or drugs,” Putin told cheering hip-hoppers who responded with chants of “Respect, Vladimir Vladimirovich”.

I have no idea what ‘top-rock’ or ‘down-rock’ is, I’ll defer to Putin on that one. Maybe Vladimir Putin’s Hip-Hop party is an attempt to be more like Obama. Isn’t Barry friends with Ludacris? And didn’t Dr. Dre just cuss Rush Limbaugh defending Obama? Putin’s just looking for some street cred, that’s all. Obama’s already got his.
