Former Ohio Congressman James Traficant appeared on Hardball with Chris Matthews the other night and was his usual colorful self. Among other things, he apologized to for once comparing Congressmen to prostitutes. He apologized to hookers for the comparison. That’s just the beginning, he said a lot more.
Jim Traficant is nothing if not colorful. Its not just his unusual coif and fashion sense that make him colorful (although that would be enough on its own), it’s his willingness to speak his mind, forcefully, anywhere, any time and to anybody. And he has a lot on his mind. He is not your ordinary Congressman (former or current).
The former Congressman from Ohio was recently released from prison after serving seven years on bribery and racketeering charges. Since his release, he has received a warm welcome back into his community, taken a short break and has been speaking his mind. Even though he is a democrat, he has spoken at Tea Party Rallies and receiving a warm reception because of his views on corruption in Washington and the over-taxation of the people.
During his recent interview with Chris Matthews, Traficant offered up his view of the membership of the House of Representatives.
“Years ago on the House floor on a foreign aid debate, I called the members of the House of Representatives a bunch of political prostitutes,” he said. “They demanded my words be stricken. They jumped up like 100 TV evangelists.”
“I want to apologize to all the hookers in America for having associated them with the United States House of Representatives,” he continued. “Yeah, I think it is a big whorehouse and they better start taking care of America and stop worrying about the Middle East and worry about the Midwest.”
He also had a few choice words for Obama, ‘Stimulate this’. And for the IRS, ‘I want to get the IRS, kick them in the crotch real good.’
He hasn’t ruled out running for office again and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him do it, and win. He is what he is and makes no attempt to pretend to be otherwise. I mean, in spite of everything, it’s hard to not kind of like the guy.

Politicians are prostitutes because they give up all there pride and integrity for money and votes. And by the way if you rape a prostitute is it considered rape or shoplifting, because with law now a days I can’t tell what it would be considered.

This is why Chris Matthews is lacking in the ratings. Only an idiot like Matthews thinks that Traficant is creditable.

George, I haven’t watched it in forever. I can’t stand Chris ‘tingle up my leg’ Matthews. I did like that Traficant slammed him with the ‘tingle up my leg’ comment and Matthews came back with ‘you’re better than that’. HA!!!!

Good on Traficant for not backing down. I quit watching MSNBC when they had that love-fest thing going on with Maddow and Olberliar. Matthews has always made me sick….come to think of it…everyone but Morning Joe at MSNBC makes me sick and there are times I can’t stand him either!

When you come to believe that you’re fluke of nature, an accident of coincidence…
you lose purpose.
There are people who have totally disconnected themselves from any possibilty that there is any higher moral authority than themselves. They claim to be humane enough to draw their own morals and ethics. The only problem is that this allows for one to justify any act as whithin a set of standards/morals that he decides on a level of expediency and convenience.
Its called ” making up the rules as you go along”.
This becomes a breeding ground for evil where at which point you’re without G*d and have become a tool of evil, however you might define it.
