Missile Launch 1
Poland Betrayed

When I first broke this story two days ago I worried very much that the natural reaction from Poland and the Czech Republic would be one of betrayal by the United States. Someone once said “It may be dangerous to be America’s enemy, but to be their friend, it is downright lethal”. Sadly this is how many of our Eastern European allies feel about us right about now. Basically (and it is true) we sold them out to the Russians for very little if anything, except “improved relations” with the Bear.

In Poland the headlines read “Betrayal! The U.S. sold us to Russia and stabbed us in the back”. The very real fear is that now there is nothing to stop the Russians from exerting their influence like they did in Georgia last year in countries like the Ukraine, Poland and the Czech Republic. In fact, I think it’s almost a guarantee that they will.

Justifiably so, the Polish Prime Minister rejected a phone call from Sec. of State Hillary Clinton to discuss the matter. They are rightly upset because when one ally promises to do something, and then they break their word in favor of another competing ally, this will rightly piss off the former said ally.

This gutless move by Obama has already emboldened Russia’s Putin to make some brave statements:

“I expect that after this correct and brave decision, others will follow, including the complete removal of all restrictions on the transfer of high technology to Russia and activity to widen the membership of the World Trade Organisation to (include) Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus”

In other words, now that we’ve already rolled over for the Ruskies they fully expect us to do whatever else they want as well.

So, why would Obama make such a monumentally stupid move, besides the fact that he is a giant girly-man who thinks he can save the world with hope and change and that dictators and thugs will give up their arms and plant flowers in response to his towering baritone voice? Well, he defends his decision because he claims that Iran’s long-range missile threat has receded. Oh really? How is it that Iran was able to launch their own home-grown satellite earlier this year (see video)? This doesn’t suggest a lessened threat of long-range missiles to me. In fact, this suggests that Iran’s threat of long range missiles is increasing daily.

Iran Builds Long Range Missile Capability

To add fuel to the fire, Iranian President Ahmadinejad said today that “Confronting the Zionist regime is a national and religious duty” and “This regime (Israel) will not last long . . . This regime has no future. Its life has come to an end.” This doesn’t sound like Iran has any interest in just sitting back and letting Obama heal the world’s wounds. In fact, Israel might easily interrupt this as a threat and a declaration of war. So, what happens when Israel decides to deal with the Iranian threat before they get any ideas? Under the Bush doctrine of Pre-emptive warfare Israel is perfectly justifiable in taking out Iranian nuclear capability before it is used, especially with statements like that coming from their President.

Were I Israel I would expect no cooperation or support from this administration. We’ll support you Israel, the people of this country will not turn their backs on you, but this administration will, it’s clear now. God be with you!
