DC March Against Big Government
Okay, so maybe you can’t find yourself in the picture, but isn’t that a great photo?!? The left trying to claim that the photos are doctored, all of them I suppose. Of course they would accuse the right of that since that’s one of their favorite tricks. They say there might have been tens of thousands, but not millions. They say the right is using ’scare tactics’ while they themselves attempt the threaten and intimidate The People into complying with their wishes.
You get a handful of Code Pink darlin’s protesting the Troops and the photos are close in and there’s headlines screaming about the outrage across the nation at the war. That was when it was ‘Bush’s war’, they don’t seem concerned with ‘Obama’s war’. But you get millions marching on Washington against big government spending, and there’s a little mention that a few people are upset that the President and Congress are trying to get health care for illegal aliens or that the national debt has reach never-before-seen depths!
We are a center of right nation and Obama, Pelosi and Reid are legislating like we are the USSR. People are mad and getting madder. Instead of hearing The People, they demean, belittle, name-call, accuse, close their eyes and ears, leave town and retreat to their ivory towers.
It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a President at war with The People. In the United States at least. He declares that The People won’t stop him. He wants and will have this health care reform, The People be damned. You see, he has to have it because it gives him more control over our daily lives. The more control he and his inner circle have, the more power and riches they can have in the short and the long run.
The President calls the people who oppose his health care proposals ‘his opponents’ and vows to defeat them. Here’s a time lapse video of the crowd in Washington yesterday. These are the people who oppose various proposals being sought by this President. These are the people the President vows to defeat. The American People!

Mr. President, you are barking up the wrong tree. He really should have tried this in a country in which Communism was already tried. No, I guess he couldn’t. They would have run him out of town on a rail from the get-go.
If Obama, Reid, Pelosi and their devout followers continue to refuse to hear the concerns of the people, if they continue to be at war with The People, they will lose and they will lose big. We are a nation Of The People, By The People, For The People. We won’t go down without taking them with us. They are grossly underestimating the power of The People. We are the descendants of people who were willing to fight and die for freedom through our history. That blood is still pumping through our veins. We hold our freedoms dear.

Well if they use the Nuclear option I think it will be disaster for obama, because even liberals say that’s wrong. I’ve met people who although they support the public option they say it’s wrong to barge it through like that. Now I meet with people all the time and they say “well charlie how do you and a the republicans you support what are your plans”. And I tell them were going to do what we should of been doing over the last 30 years and that’s more freedom in the healthcare market. And than they say well the Republicans are corrupt, because there taking money for the insurance companies. And than I tell them well the Dems take more money from lawyers who are against tort reform. And than they say to me every time your right.

From what I understand micky, going the nuke option opens a host of options for the Republican minority as well. One is that the entire bill has to be read out loud in the Congress before it is voted on.
I suggest Senator Byrd be given the honor.

The more I look at it the more all I see is a lose lose for them.
Pass it, (or more accurately “fist it up our a$$”) with a public option and their gonna hear it come election time.
Pass something with no public option and their own will destroy them come election time, even by the regional/congressional elections.
Pass something with TORT reform and interstate competition that the right wants and of course thats disaterous for them (prolly never happen)
I think they’re screwed no matter what.

a.) can he get reid to try to force it through?
i say 50-50
b.) if they try to force it through will the dems all go along?
i say up to 8 defect, which is still enough to pass the bill
c.) if reid says no, can it pass without the nuclear option

imo, reid should not force it through
it goes against the honor code of the senate, which is why the reps did not force through judges when they were in control

my guess, fwiw, of what will happen is that the house will have a public option, the senate won’t. The senate bill will get 62 votes. It’ll go to reconciliation, be found to be revenue neutral when the public option has a trigger. Then, it’ll get 54 votes in the senate.
That way, the moderates dont have to be as afraid of a primary battle, since they can have deniability.

Just saw on Drudge that Olympia Snowe says no way the bill passes the Senate with a public option. Hmmm.
I think Obama feels it’s now or never knowing that the Democrats are going to take a beating in 2010.
Every talk show host I listened to after the election said that the Democrats were going to over-reach. Every one of them were correct.

If they pass something weak with no public option but instead a trigger for one down the road Obamas brown nosers will still be pi$$ed.
If they pass one with a public option theres the 52% that dont want it that wont be voting for him.
Plus prolly a few more as the rejection is growing.
To pass something by taking monies from medicaid/care he’ll alienate them plus the ones that are effected by proxy. I’ll be pi$$ed if they screw with my dad in laws medical.
