Why do we need 44 Obama Czars? Exactly what do they do and are they even constitutional? I mean, isn’t this what the President’s Cabinet secretaries are for? No? Maybe these questions and others will be answered if Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC), a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee gets his way.
Congressman Patrick McHenry is calling for a hearing with the 44 so-called “Czars” of The One’s administration. He wrote a letter to the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in which he asked that all 44 of Obama’s Czars be called to testify about their roles and responsibilities. He wants to find out if such advisors so close to the President of the United States, serving without Senate confirmation, are even constitutionally permissable.
This could be a lot of fun actually!
Congressman McHenry wants all 44 Obama Czars to testify before an important House committee. In his letter to chairman Edolphus Towns (D-NY) and ranking member Darrell Issa (R-CA) he says this:
“Each of the two possible scenarios here is troubling,” the letter reads in part. “If the czars have high-level, decision-making authority as their titles would indicate, then it is my concern that their appointment without Senate approval represents a circumvention of our Constitutionally-mandated confirmation process. On the other hand, if the czars have no actual power, then I am equally concerned that taxpayers are fronting the bill for the salaries of these figureheads and their staff.”
So what really is a Czar? And now there are 44? It seems like just yesterday we only had 30 or so! Here is the most current list of them that I could find. They do seem a bit of a duplication of sorts. Maybe they would welcome an opportunity to speak before congress. It would help them build support for their goals, right? That is unless they really are quite sinister with nefarious purposes and intentions.
Clearly appropriate vetting of these Commissars Czars should be done at the very least, although I suspect that Obama bypassed this with these policy advisors because they couldn’t pass a vigorous Senate confirmation. In any event, this proliferation of Obama Czars is just one more example of the ever-bloating of federal government when greedy, incompetent Democrats are in charge.
A major highfive to Congressman Patrick McHenry (R-NC). And should he get his hearing to call all 44 Obama Czars to testify, that will be must-see TV - especially some of those marxist communists! Below you can see photos of Rep. McHenry and some interesting videos of Glenn Beck on the Obama Czars.

You gotta love Glenn Beck, if it weren’t for him Van Jones would still be sitting pretty in the White House.
But of course let’s not kid ourselves, he still has Obama’s ear.

I agree with this guy 100%, because we pick the leaders and nobody wants these Czars.

This is a great idea. Get rid of all of them.
Of course, given McHenry’s criminal justice stance, something tells me the worst czar of all will be safe and sound (although McHenry would probably rather see Walters back in there than Kerlikowskie).

All recent Presdients have had the exact same thing, including Bush Jr.
After witnessing the Republicans’ performance during the President’s speech, I think that Van Jones was right.
