Here are the winners of the August comment competition between Right Pundits frequent commenters. After dueling it out all month we are pleased that enlightened LisaB reigns supreme, with confusing Brian in second place and venerable TimV in third place. Congrats to them!
Honorable mention go to Flying Monkey, MDefl, and Ron. Just like the ponies, however, you have to win, place or show. You guys came this close.

1. LisaB = $300
2. Brian = $200
3. Tim V = $100
4. Flying Monkey
5. MDefl
6. Ron
7. Charles
8. Micky
9. Rhayader

Prizes can be claimed by emailing McCain at the email address you will find in the ‘contact’ page located in the sidebar. When you do, please verify the email address you used to comment. You must have a PayPal account to participate and you must by 18 years or older and reside in the United States in a state that allows this sort of thing.
Right Pundits is also making a donation of two-cents per comment, or $123.64 to the RNC for the 6,182 comments in August that made it by our odious sensors. To keep everyone happy a matching donation of $123.64 is being made to a helpful organization called life2orphans.org which helps orphan kids in the Ukraine. You may hate the RNC but nobody hates orphans.
September is already underway so get cracking!

Well this is pretty cool, because I never knew about this. I guess I’ll have to make more comments, because not only do I want a prize but it’s good for charity.
September 7th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
It’s a great way to get folks to interact Charles…so many are too afraid, or timid, or think what they have to say isn’t worthwhile. An icebreaker like this can do a lot of good!

“White House: Van Jones Did Not Fill Out 63-Question, Seven-Page Questionnaire”
as a service we should come up with questions that they should have asked jones.
question 1: are you a racist?
question 2: if the answer is yes to question 1, do you only hate white people?
question 3: have you ever supported a weird group such as the 9/11 truthers in a way that can be proven, such as in signing a petition?
September 8th, 2009 at 2:33 am
Answers:
1.) No, I hate Nascar, it’s whitey’s sport.
2.) No, I just hate you Republican a$$holes.
3.) Yes, er, No!
September 8th, 2009 at 4:59 am

September 8th, 2009 at 6:00 am
to ALL of you DEM posters : are YOU a truther ? 1 of 3 dems are, how bout you ? Brian ?
rasmuessen- Democrats in America are evenly divided on the question of whether George W. Bush knew about the 9/11 terrorist attacks in advance. Thirty-five percent (35%) of Democrats believe he did know, 39% say he did not know, and 26% are not sure
September 8th, 2009 at 6:01 am
19- great answer Brandon

Well, I suppose 9th isn’t all that bad of a finish in a contest I didn’t even know I was participating in.
Congrats to the winners; we all strive to match your levels of uninterrupted internet time wasting.
September 8th, 2009 at 1:59 pm
well, if you were not a drug addict you could win too
September 8th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
the funny part is, when McCain told me about this business scheme of his, he told me that for every comment he would donate 0.02 cents per comment to:
life2orphans.org
which does things like buys formula for orphan babies in the ukraine.
to be honest, i was a little embarrassed … at 0.02 cents a post, my donation would be what … maybe $1.68 per month, and i thought, “i wonder if they even accept donations that small?”
then i saw, $300.00!!! (btw, is that in jamaican dollars?)
that much money will feed five babies formula for a year!!! viva la capitalisme, huh?
suddenly everything george bush ever said makes complete and total sense to me …
September 8th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
Brandon:
Sorry it’s just that I don’t believe I’ve ever seen you on the site.
September 8th, 2009 at 2:20 pm
Oh! Wait I just realized how close I came to honorable mention.
September 8th, 2009 at 2:33 pm
actually what is a truther?
if it is someone who just wants to know what happened on 9/11 then i suppose i am a truther. but if it is someone who thinks george bush blew up the buildings, then i am not.
everyone knows sarah palin blew up the towers.
September 8th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
LOL Lisab. You’re not a truther.
September 8th, 2009 at 6:35 pm
pelosi and reid say they have the votes
September 8th, 2009 at 6:43 pm
Lisab, not sure about that. The Weekly Standard is reported 37 Dems that will not vote for the bill with any public option. http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/09/make_that_24_25_democrats_who.asp. If the GOP stands firm that means they need 38 Dems to vote with them to defeat the bill, that is an awfully thin margin for Queen Nancy. The Senate is even worse, I think this bill is done.
September 8th, 2009 at 6:54 pm
i am pretty sure they have it.
the senate will pass it somehow, and reconcile it later.
you will know soon, because if they put it up for a vote they definitely have it. basically any dem that votes against it in the house loses their job.
if they vote for it in the house they only might lose their job.
the senate is more difficult except they will vote it through by splitting the bill or reconciliation or by putting through a trigger mechanism that will definitely occur.
September 8th, 2009 at 6:54 pm
Bryan:
Well I don’t think obama’s going to give up on the public option, because I can just tell by the muscles in his face he hates to lose. Yet I don’t they have the voted in the senate or house, because most people in the house are coming back with an earful from there people. And in the Senate they’ve never had the votes if you look at Kirsten Gilibrand,Jim Webb, and about 10 other Dems who are considered moderates.
September 8th, 2009 at 7:03 pm
Even someone like McCaskill had better watch the vote on this one. Missouri is very divided and McCain actually narrowly won the state. If she votes for this bill she’s done. In fact, Harry Reid better be very careful here, if he pushes this through and essentially passes a public option in reconciliation, he’s done in Nevada, that is almost guaranteed. That is why, ultimately, the current bill with a public option is not going to pass, Reid and those who live in close states cannot afford politically to push this through with parliamentary shenanigans. In fact, a small part of me (very small) would almost like to see these morons do exactly that because the political ramifications of pushing this through will be real and drastic. With that said, I wouldn’t want to sacrifice our financial future just for political game.
I’ve been wrong before though
September 8th, 2009 at 7:10 pm
“Well I don’t think obama’s going to give up on the public option”
i do not think so either.
plus if obama loses this, he is very damaged. many kossians will not forgive him if he does not steamroll this through. i have visited there this week and many are very upset obama let jones resign.
if it does go through, obama gets new life and there is a 50% chance i think the gop will collapse. there is a real chance he indies will flock to a winner.
the worst will be if it comes to a vote and obama loses. that will not happen. i predict reid will postpone until a new senator in MA is put in if the senate is too close, and he will pray the gop wins so he can say he does not have the votes.
September 8th, 2009 at 7:11 pm
the house is a no-brainer … pelosi can force it through.
if she actually lost the vote …
she would lose the speakership.
September 8th, 2009 at 7:19 pm
Possibly, which is why we may not see a vote. Actually, I kinda see Hoyer as already gunning for Pelosi, although subtly. There are some strange forces at work here, if 37 Democrats have already committed to not vote for any plan with a public option, I just don’t see how Nancy will ever put this up for a vote. Obama’s speech tomorrow will be interesting though. Remember to drink every time he says “Let me be clear”.
September 8th, 2009 at 7:41 pm
Wow, even with lisab’s shenanigans? I didn’t even expect an orange squash. I would donate all of it to Wildlifewaystation.org (Wildlife Waystation) a charity and retirement home for retired and mistreated animals in the tujunga foothills of the currently burned LA mountain area. They had to evacuate the lions, tigers, panthers, and others to safety and it costs a lot. Everyone was saved. If Right Pundits does it directly you would get to claim a little tax exemption I think, well ask one of your lawyers. Or we can do it the paypal way thru me. Thankyou. And the animals thankyou.
September 8th, 2009 at 8:47 pm
brian,
you should use the money for some risperidone
even the animals think so
September 8th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
you are too bedazzled by the world of psychiatry, perhaps you should vacation and go to all its historic sites. you could make a travelog and maybe even get it published. why not?
September 8th, 2009 at 9:02 pm
or …
and this would be only slightly more fun
i could just make fun of you.
September 8th, 2009 at 9:09 pm
Brian,
I heard they are casting for an actor for the remake of the commercial “this is your brain on drugs.”
I can put in a good word for you
Lisa,
When are you going to get a gravatar for BJG. I think one with thigh high Italian boots would look nice
September 8th, 2009 at 9:16 pm
how about
this ?
September 8th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
well, that didn’t work. oh well…
September 8th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
If Obama doesnr get his PO, and it looks a loy like he wont, I’ll bet he trys to sneak it as something else. I think he’ll use the Childrens health insurance plan as a trojan horse, star bringing the requirments around until everyone, even 65 year olds are considered kids.
The PO will become the pubic option
September 8th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
whys everythng look so much better before I submit it ?
September 8th, 2009 at 9:33 pm
umm, tim, remember our lil discussion about the pros and cons of etf’s, well since then the greater world has spoken……so if my points were proven right,,,,anyways, an author I would recommend right now is Camille Paglia, she is an amazing pundit….if you want to I.Q. up.
September 8th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
State Dependent Learning!
apparently your in one state of mind typing your entry, and then in another when you read it a few moments later. that means your state has changed in the intervening time for some reason. and now it looks diff.
September 8th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
She SHOULD lose the speakership. The woman is a loon and needs to go run her vineyard in California and give the people a rest from her. I guess it’s too much to hope that the people of San Francisco will send her home and put someone with more common sense in place to represent them.
September 8th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
yes brian and paglia happens to think the dems suck too
September 8th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
oh, so its like your stuff except you never read what you write
September 8th, 2009 at 10:31 pm
I just read a lot of Paglia tonight, including her piece on the problem with the Dems and obama and to get out of afghanistan. I thought you might want to read it to take in some new information from an acquiring mind. She is good. oh, you will be pleased to know obama is going to be the first president to chair the UN security council. so I thought, wow, he is going to really sit at the head of the table after all, as if our presidency was a jumping stone to this next post. there is a story there.
October 4th, 2009 at 7:02 am
California’s schools are ranked 47th out of 50 in the nation and it’s teachers are the highest paid !
October 4th, 2009 at 7:33 am
tim V, its expensive living in california so they do need more money. And the biggest problem in California is the lack of good parenting, the lack of involved fathers, the huge number of single working parent homes, and crime that has a way of manifesting even in the young which is very disruptive to learning. And the kids come from mostly uneducated parents who have no tradition of study, reading, or learning a higher level trade or profession. The kids of engineers usual do much better on average than the kids of general laborers with checkered jobs. So to expect teachers to be able to compensate for all this is a lot to ask. The best they can do often, especially in large overfilled classrooms, often with students who don’t even speak english as a first language is be babysitters, and attempt to teach some basic 3 R’s and some topical material.
October 4th, 2009 at 10:32 am
“oh, you will be pleased to know obama is going to be the first president to chair the UN security council.”
Are you kidding ? I just crapped down my leg when I heard that, thinking of all the moonbattery he can apply from that position really fcks with your sphincter.
“so I thought, wow, he is going to really sit at the head of the table after all, as if our presidency was a jumping stone to this next post. there is a story there.”
The international community will only be his budy when he decides to lauch American money their way, Like with his global poverty tax.
“Global Poverty Act” (S.2433) through his committee. The legislation would commit the U.S. to spending 0.7 percent of gross national product on foreign aid, which amounts to a phenomenal 13-year total of $845 billion over and above what the U.S. already spends.”
And that right there is already a year old !
