In a curious tale of strange bedfellows, Jenna Bush Hager, formerly known to all of us as Jenna Bush one of President Bush’s lovely twin daughters, will begin work as a special correspondent on the “Today” show. There’s a sentence I never thought I’d say; Jenna Bush, Today Show correspondent.

Jenna Bush Hager is now a 27 year old teacher living in Baltimore, Maryland with her husband Henry. She has written two books and is now looking to add Today show special correspondent to her resume. NBC is a pretty unlikely place you’d think that Jenna Bush would end up, or anyone from the Bush family for that matter, but here she is. From People magazine:
“It wasn’t something I’d always dreamed to do,” said Hager, 27, a two-time author and teacher in Baltimore. “But I think one of the most important things in life is to be open-minded and to be open-minded for change.”
Jenna’s first project is likely to be seen sometime next month. Jim Bell, the executive producer for the Today show, says that some of the subjects that Jenna is likely to be covering is education. Pretty fitting for a teacher.
Bell also said that Jenna Bush Hager will not be covering politics at all, kind of leads me to believe she might have some conservative tendencies. You know if she was a flaming liberal like Ron Reagan they’d have her out touting Obama policies and such. Although we could all be surprised.
My natural inclination is not to trust the media, so I’m thinking NBC is up to something with this hire. Jim Bell said that she just wowed everyone and knocked the ball out of the park in her interviews.
As I stated before, Jenna Bush, Today Show special correspondent will likely be seen for the first time in September. She plans on keeping her teaching job and possibly writing more books; looks like she’s off to a pretty good start, despite being sired by the Devil.

she’s just doing her version of a lynn cheney, but its smart to parlay your opportunities into an even bigger career. lynn cheney was on abc with geo stepho today and quite assertive and dominated the table more than anyone else and absolutely fierless and on point. I don’t agree with her, but she was effective for her cause and a very good infighter.

maybe msnbc is trying to balance itself out and offered her a choice opportunity to do it. I think it could be a ratings shoe in too if she’s any good. look how fast racheal maddow took off. seems like good business sense to me.

“Good to see nepotism”. Okay not nepotism but it is favoritism! I use to like the today show and i will watch when i can but if i see jenna bush segment i will change the channel. I at least watched the video segment of her on air welcome, but how dare she say she lived a “normal childhood” and then say we trick treated on air force one, went on boat trips, had both grandfather and father elected president, went on boating trips. Oh right jenna I and all the kids you read to all are glad you enjoyed a normal childhood like us! Give me a break! plus you telling me there is no jobless teacher the today show could not have given this job to instead of some well off famous person what did paris hilton turn the job down so there was Jenna?
