Senator Ted Kennedy’s farewell is underway beginning with a motorcade route from his home in Hyannis Port through Boston and onto the JFK Presidential Library. There will be public viewing of Edward Kennedy lying in repose, wake and private memorial service there, then on to the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Boston where the Ted Kennedy Funeral will take place at 10:30-12:30 eastern time, Saturday, August 29, 2009. Senator Ted Kennedy died late Tuesday at his home in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts from brain cancer. He was 77 and considered legendary as one of the most influential and longest-serving senators in U.S. history. It is quite certain the Ted Kennedy funeral news coverage will reflect that.

8 a.m.-3 p.m. ET Kennedy Public viewing continues through the day.
7-9 p.m. ET Private memorial service at JFK Library for Kennedy family and friends.

10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. ET Kennedy Funeral procession to Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Boston. Barack Obama and John McCain will both speak.
5:30 p.m. ET Ted Kennedy Burial next to his brothers Robert F. Kennedy and President John F. Kennedy at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington D.C.
