Trust on the Issues has been released for this month. The results are slowly returning towards the republican party.
Results are below.
Every month they poll 1000 likely voters and ask them which party they trust more on certain issues. Over the course of 2009, the numbers have been changing. Below are several charts. They include the overall percentages for each party on specific issues. There is a section in each chart that says the number of issues with which the two parties have advantages, overall and with independents. The charts also total the percents for each party. From July to the present, I have included the number of issues with which the two parties have advantages among men and women as well.
Scroll down and look at what has happened in the twelve months since the inauguration.
Incredible numbers.
The numbers are incredibly in favor of the republican party. They are not even close. When you total the percents, the republican party is favored by more than 70 percentage points.
Notice what is happening with men and independents.
The only category that men favor democrats over republicans is Government Ethics.
The percentages are:

It’s surprising to me to see the Aug 09 results and to see that Dems hold an advantage on Govt. Ethics. I’d have thought Queen Nan would have brought those numbers down.
Interesting numbers for sure. Thanks Frank.

the dems appear to be a big hole and still digging
the dems i know are surprised at obama’s war on the elderly. they never figured that obama would attack one of the dems main voting groups.
the obamabots are now wavering between calling them whining old people who should go off into a corner and die and senile old people being mislead by bush supporters.
neither one is going over well with the elderly, who vote in large numbers. instead of soccer moms, now they might need to focus on matlock moms

it’s a ROUT and even the women are finally waking up. how easily deceived they are ( see Eve )
October 20th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
Tim V “see Eve?” Surely you are not in the camp of the mysogynists that wrote and re-wrote most of the Bible, are you?
I find this public opinion poll stuff amusing. When King George’s numbers were high while Americans felt helpless and he reassured them by putting their grandchildren in debt by enriching his war opportunist bretheren in the military-industrial complex, and then they slipped and slipped and slipped . . . were the same people who now revel in uppity boy’s similar approval trends pointing out how George was damaging the Repubs? I think not. My money sez that the overwhelming majority of them were saying: Who cares what the opinion polls say–it’s just a bunch of ignorant Americans being duped by the liberal media. Our man is doing the right thing and our party will get relelected!” So, could it now be that the opinion polls merely reflect ignorant Americans being duped by the conservative media?
In reality, it is probably more like monotonic media entertaining unsophisticated viewers with sound bites that allow them to have common-subject social conversations that pass for considered discourse in a mock form of participatory democracy. Most people are too busy trying to simplify negotiating the complicated world they live in to really take the time to seek out diverse, creedible information from which to understand what is more likely really going on.

Obama is approaching Warren G. Harding numbers now. By 2012, people will be living in Obamavilles. HopeChange!

Jim,
Wow. Interesting post.
Let me explain the situation more clearly.
Public opinion has a tendency to drift away from the party in power. This happened consistently during the Bush administration. The trust on the issues were first polled by Scott Rasmussen early on during the Bush administration. The trends clearly show a lessening in trust on all ten issues for the republican party.
The reason why trust is diverted to the party that is not in power is quite simple. The party in power has to make decisions. The party out of power does not. The opposing party complains that the decisions are not the correct decisions and the public only hears the complaining. The party out of power doesn’t have to make decisions. They can truly be the Party of No … a phrase started during the Bush administration when the democrats were constantly saying, “NO.” The democrats never really made any substantive plans regarding the ten issues … thus their plans must be better. The public did not necessarily like all of the decisions that were being made by the Bush administration.
The reverse is happening now.
That is causing the Generic Ballot to shift to the republicans (a fact that never happened since the inception of the polling by Scott Rasmussen) and the Trust on the Issues to shift as well.
It has nothing to do with right-wing media or left-wing media. It has to do with the policies that are being implemented.

Tim,
Agreed, however I would say that he is going to destroy america. I really think that he thinks that he is doing the right thing.

he wants a socialist country and he is succeeding
October 21st, 2009 at 6:51 pm
Tim,
He wants the government to take care of everybody. He doesn’t consider that socialism … he thinks that it’s the right thing to do.
Sadly, I disagree.
