I signed up a few months back to the Obama House for updates on issues. Well this morning I checked my email and had a message from David Axelrod Senior Advisor to the President with a message to let me know that health care reform is now health insurance reform.

So they have decided to repackage and rename the reform of health care into health insurance. Not to confuse any liberals reading this, but they are two (2) different things not the same. But don’t let that fact stop you from calling us conservatives’ names.

Who needs a Reality Check?

Dear Friend,

Anyone that’s watched the news in the past few days knows that health insurance reform is a hot topic — and that rumors and scare tactics have only increased as more people engage with the issue. Given a lot of the outrageous claims floating around, it’s time to make sure everyone knows the facts about the security and stability you get with health insurance reform.

That’s why we’ve launched a new online resource — WhiteHouse.gov/RealityCheck — to help you separate fact from fiction and share the truth about health insurance reform.

Here is the link: http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck/?e=10&ref=text

The fight is now for health insurance. Well lipstick on a pig is still just lipstick on a pig. Too bad Obama does not have a plan for this. The house has one but what is Barry’s plan? Has anyone seen or much less read Obama’s plan?

We knew going into this effort that accomplishing comprehensive health insurance reform wasn’t going to be easy. Achieving real change never is. The entrenched interests that benefit from the status quo always use their influence in Washington to try and keep things just as they are.

But don’t be misled. We know the status quo is unsustainable. If we do nothing, millions more Americans will be denied insurance because of pre-existing conditions, or see their coverage suddenly dropped if they become seriously ill. Out-of-pocket expenses will continue to soar, and more and more families and businesses will be forced to deal with health insurance costs they can’t afford.

That’s the reality.

Americans deserve better. You deserve a health care system that works as well for you as it does for the status quo; one you can depend on — that won’t deny you coverage when you need it most or charge you crippling out-of-pocket co-pays. Health insurance reform means guaranteeing the health care security and stability you deserve.

This would be my response to David if I thought it would make a difference.

Dear David,

I agree with you that Americans deserve better. We deserve to have our elected and public officials, like you, to be honest with us. America has the greatest healthcare system in the world. If that were not true, then explain why the world beats a path to our door for healthcare? Why are not relying on other countries to develop a vaccine for the H1N1 flu? Why are most of the advances in medical based in the USA?

Why are you and this Congress smearing us? Why are you calling us Nazis and Terrorist? Why are you having us beat-up at town hall meeting? Why are members of Congress phoning in town hall meetings? Why are you trying to keep us from asking our representatives questions about health care reform?

Because you have lost control of the message, you are doing everything you can to demonize us and because you can’t answer our questions based on knowledge and facts; you stoop to calling us un-patriotic.

You say the status quo is unsustainable. Not at all, everyone should pay something toward health insurance. No one in this country is denied insurance but some people choose not to pay for it but are willing to let others pay their way. It is really about priorities. And health care (insurance) is a low priority for many and it their choice and none of your business.

You state that expenses will continue to soar, well yes that is true as long as we allow illegal’s to use our health care system for free. And as long as the government meddles in the health insurance business, the cost will be regulated beyond even the governments’ ability to pay.

You mention that people are denied insurance because of pre-existing conditions, but to fix that we don’t need to scrap the whole system. When you need an oil change on your car, do you just go and trade it in on a new one? Of course not that would be stupid. Yet that is what you and Obama want to do.

Finally, David you state there are a lot of the outrageous claims floating around and it’s time to make sure everyone knows the facts about the security and stability you get with health insurance reform. Well sir that is what we are doing at town hall meeting, blogs, talk radio and at water coolers across our great country.

Stop telling lies and ram it down our throats. Get out of the way and let the free market work.

Have you not learned that when the government meddles, it creates problems and then meddles more to fix the problem and just creates more problems.

Thanks but no thanks. We are smart enough to know lies and deception when we see and hear it. The reality is there is not a crisis here even when you change it from Health Care Reform to Health Insurance Reform.

Sincerely,
George Fallon
