Videos of the Snickers “gay” kissing Super Bowl commercial, along with player reactions are below.
War on terror? Iraq? Homophopic candy bar commercial run during the Super Bowl? Can you guess what of the three topics has the gay community in a tizzy?
Yes, you guessed it. Under preposterous pressure from the gay community, Snickers pulled any continuation of the video commercial below the fold.
The full story is at FoxNews.
A commercial for Snickers candy bars launched in the Super Bowl broadcast was benched after its maker got complaints that it was homophobic.
The ad showed two auto mechanics accidentally kissing while eating the same candy bar and then ripping out some chest hair to do something “manly.” One of the alternate endings on the Snickers Web site showed the men attacking each other.
The Human Rights Campaign and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation complained to the maker of Snickers, Hackettstown-based Masterfoods USA, a division of Mars Inc., which also makes M&M’s and other candies.
The Web site also featured video of players from the Super Bowl teams reacting to the kiss.
“This type of jeering from professional sports figures at the sight of two men kissing fuels the kind of anti-gay bullying that haunts countless gay and lesbian school children on playgrounds all across the country,” Human Rights Campaign president Joe Solmonese said in a statement.
So here are the videos. The first video is the commercial ad itself which ran during the Super Bowl. The next two are player reaction videos which appeared on the company website. ALL have been taken down today.

This is called “funny”. It is okay to be funny. There there. The gay community appears to be silent — perhaps even cheering — about Prince’s giant phallic symbol during the half-time show. So what’s the big deal with a candy bar commercial?

I heard a clip on the news that said, among other things, the homosexual activists are upset because the commercials made it seem like a man kissing another man isn’t a manly thing to do.
Well, IT ISN’T!

I suppose that the idea of cringing when thinking of two 70 year old gerriatrics having rampid sex would make me “age discriminatory”.
That commercial was some funny shiat!

It goes to show that you just can’t do or say anything in this country anymore without someone getting bent out of shape.
What a shame. I thought the ad was hilarious when it ran during the game.
Great post, Pundits!

Does anyone really care that this commercial was pulled? The same idiots in an uproar because gays and lesbians were offended are the same idiots that got offended by Janet Jackson and Prince. Get over yourself and stip acting like babies when it comes to homosexuality. Start complaining about interracial relationships you so called conservative bigots. Look at the meaning of republican by the way, your acts and views make me ashamed to be one

HA! Nice try there, cowboy. Interestingly, a gay friend once told me that the problem with the “gay movement” and culture is that it is obsessed with sexuality. Everything revolved around being gay, and commercials and such are always seen thru that lens. He is right. Eduardo, if gay folks want their lobbying efforts to be taken seriously, they need to start acting like people with normal priorities. It is just a commercial.

the part that is funny is that it makes the straight people seem idiotic …
yet again lesbians backing up the gay guys. lesbians have backed gay me politically and socially for years … during aids especially (lesbians had a very low hiv rate)
jmho, but i don’t think they really get along.

Stumbled on your site quite by accident, I’m glad I did. I’m always on the lookout for a new football resource and your site really fit the bill
thanks,
