Man, you gotta love Google Maps, they track everything, even the worst global warming offenders. They have a new feature (in conjunction with the UN) that allows you to pull up various maps and color code them by who has the most green house gas emissions since 1990. In this case, green is good and purple is bad. You can play with it by clicking here.

So, who are the worst offenders? China? India? The U.S.? Nope, if you guessed any of these you’d be wrong. Actually, the worst offender is Sweden (110% increase), Turkey (103% increase) and Canada (55% increase). Ouch. Where does the U.S. fall on this list you ask? Actually, we’re only the tenth worst with a 14% increase. Not bad actually. Take that Liechtenstein. I would have never guessed Sweden or Canada. How do they have so much global warming, there’s only a population of like 100 people between the countries.

Of course Google Maps can’t even give me accurate directions to my house, so take this all with a grain of salt. I also find it funny that for all of Africa, Asia and South America there is no data available. I’m guessing if you plug in data from those countries (why is there no data available, that is BS) then China and India would suddenly lurch to to the top.
