CQ Ratings Change in New Jersey as Corzine Slips

New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine has so much to overcome in his 2009 re-election campaign that CQ Politics is changing the rating of that race from Tossup to Leans Republican.

The Democratic governor’s opponent, former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie, holds the advantage.

Well, we shall see.

Will Corzine pull a Torricelli Gambit? I think it’s unlikely, but after decades of living in NJ, it wouldn’t really surprise me.

As I have stated previously at my blog, NJ has the stupidest electorate in the US, possibly in the free world. The Dems have a one-party state because the NJ voters – like an addict – keep coming back for more. It doesn’t matter how many last-minute switches and shenanigans the Dems pull, the voters keep putting Dems in office.

Let’s hope they try a real change next time.
