According to a “senior Democratic officialâ€? from Minnesota, Stuart Smalley (talk show host, self help guru, and member of several twelve-step programs), has decided to run for U.S. Senate in Minnesota in 2008. The anonymous mouthpiece, who did not want to be identified because Smalley has not yet made an announcement, claimed that during a recent one on one conversation with Smalley, “He told me he was running.”
It has been reported that Smalley has been calling members of the Minnesota congressional delegation to get their input on a run, and he broke the news this week that he would be leaving his show on Air America Radio on Feb. 14, telling all 6 listeners that he would be making a decision on a race soon.
Mr. Smalley was unavailable for an interview today, however he did respond to an email I sent, in which I asked him if he would either confirm or deny that he was going to make a play for first-term senator Republican Norm Coleman’s seat in the Senate. Smalley simply said, “Why not? I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.”

I just gotta see that email!! Better than an autograph! With ridiculous Al Franken also in the race, we’ll need to do the senate race on our celebrity website.

Good snooping Joe! That would be a good email!
McCain - is there a reason why the two counter numbers at the bottom don’t match?
GOod number though eh?

Okay - disclaimer: I’ve never liked Al Franken, he rarely makes me laugh, but sometimes, yes, he does make me laugh and I have given one of his books to someone in my family.
That said, is there really any difference between him running or Scwartzenegger? Let’s be fair here - there are a lot of folks who run and get elected from both parties who, when they announce, make us think, You have GOT to be kidding.
Wasn’t Sonny Bono a Republican?

MBT - I’m testing a new counter program, but it seems a bit inflationary.
Jill - On the radio Al Franken is usually funny. Opposition research required me to listen. On your question, Arnold actually was active in his party in California before he ran. I don’t think Al has those credentials.

And Sonny Bono was Mayor of his town prior to running for Congress - yes he was an “R.”
We could use a Senator that make us laugh - oh wait - that role is already taken by Teddy.

Jill—Let’s be fair here??? If the world was fair, there would be no wheelchairs.

What’s with Minnesota? First a former WWF star becomes Governor. Now the silly “I’m good enough” SNLer turned left-wing goofball for Senate?
What’s next? Roger Rabbitt?
February 1st, 2007 at 4:43 pm
Aw - Joe - I’d say that that’s a knee-jerk response you must type every time you see someone say “let’s be fair” but isn’t knee-jerk only for liberals?
So, instead, I’ll say - I bet you can do better than that! Because I’m sure you get my point.

Jill, you have a keen sense of awareness concerning liberals.
Susan, it must be the cold in Minnesota. Brain freeze causes people to say “eh” a lot and miss the holes on the ballot.
Joe, where is that email? At least forward it to me privately!
MBT, Ted Kennedy makes me cry a lot more than laugh.

Mr. Smalley,
My name is Joe Citizen. I’m a writer for RightPundits.com.Your
publicist has already told me that you are unable to accept phone interviews at
this time; however, I would like you to go on record to either confirm or deny
if you will be running for U.S. Senator from the state of Minnesota. The
citizens deserve an answer.
I will be looking forward to your timely email response.

Joe, that totally rocks. I’m still waiting for return emails from George Bush and Shakira. Those two seem super busy.
February 2nd, 2007 at 11:43 am
Woo hoo! This is great Joe - no need to confirm - we trust you! I think!
McCain, Come to think of it, George has never written back to me either! Hmmmm… I’ll have to get Laura to get onto him about his lack of manners.
