Attention all conspiracy theorists, is the fact that NASA video tapes have been erased proof that the Apollo Moon landing was a hoax? For years and years this has been the claim of many conspiracy theorists like Bart Sibrel who, according to CNN stated:
“I do know the moon landings were faked,” said crusading filmmaker Bart Sibrel, whose aggressive interview tactics once provoked Aldrin to punch him in the face. “I’d bet my life on it.”
Sibrel may seem crazy, but he has company. A 1999 Gallup poll found that a scant 6 percent of Americans doubted the Apollo 11 moon landing happened, and there is anecdotal evidence that the ranks of such conspiracy theorists, fueled by innuendo-filled documentaries and the Internet, are growing.

Conspirators are now abuzz because it turns out that NASA accidentally erased the original footage of the video from the moon landing. NPR reports:
An exhaustive, three-year search for some tapes that contained the original footage of the Apollo 11 moonwalk has concluded that they were probably destroyed during a period when NASA was erasing old magnetic tapes and reusing them to record satellite data.
Okay, I get how things get lost and moved around, and hey, 1969 was a long time ago, but come on, why are these tapes not in the Smithsonian? These are national treasures, not old videos of Magnum PI that are still lying around your attic.
So now the conspiracy nuts are having a field day because they say this is proof that they were right all along and now NASA is trying to cover the rear ends. Who knows what really happened? I will say that 66 years from Kitty Hawk to landing on the moon seems almost ridiculously fast, but I also believe that Americans can do anything we want to if we put our minds to it. I also believe that we probably couldn’t go to the moon today, even if we wanted to. So, have at it, is this real or much ado about nothing?

What crap. Actually the moon landings were incredibly dangerous. The Russians were right about it when they said we were taking a huge risk (even though it was sour grapes).
Somehow it worked. A hundred years from now the lunar landings will be even more recognized for the incredibly dangerous stunts that they were. It is a credit to the science and the organization behind them that no one was killed.
Of course, now, what would the PROOF be (not that any is needed). Allow me to use my simple mind. The PROOF would be the artifacts of the landings. Someday there will be monuments on the moon. At those spots. Then the conspiracy theorists can finally all shut up.

Why is it when it comes to the moon landing people want “proof”? But when it comes to everything else, they act like it’s a birth right? Like Cell phones, do they really work? So you buy the fact that “we” (white males for the most part) have put satellites in orbit, and that radio works, and that all that has been figured out, and that the rockets and the space shuttle are in fact real, but there’s simply no way that we walked on the moon.
Most of the 6% are losers, and/or Farrakhan types who doubt anything that they don’t feel like thinking and get mad when their loser asses are shown any type of achievement.
Look at it this way losers, THE HOAX would have been a giant overwhelming achievement beyond your wildest dreams! It involved rocket launches, and television, at the very least, both of which are way way way beyond your comprehension. So STFU already and thank your sorry ass that you were born in a world that contains the United States of America.

Without even considering the question one way or the other….did anyone ever consider the 18,000
employees of NASA that would of had to take a oath to the secrecy of such a scam on the public of the world and to say not one would come forward and break that oath of secrecy to NASA and spill the beans? Ludicrous! beyond belief. That would be a million dollars worth of story to the National Enquirer alone. And what about all the hundreds of contractors involved…Did they pull the wool over their eyes as well. Come on, give me a break!

Have you not seen real films of humans approaching reduced or zero gravity by now? They don’t go up and down like puppets.
My hero, Ronald Reagan also fooled the Soviets with Star Wars, which was not uncovered as a fraud for almost fifteen years! There was no space station with lazers as had been reported. It was an attempt to break the USSR financially. Come on people, please use your heads. Look at the films. What are you looking at? People on Wires!

I KNOW it was faked! Been an actor, filmaker, and took many science classes. Was an Electronics tech for 20 years too. I know what they could and could not do in the 60s. Radios were tubes, as were computers. We did not have the technology to go and still dont.

People say the Apollo missions were extremely dangerous. The potential number of people who could be killed as part of a moon attempt going wrong is nothing compared to the number of people who were being killed in Vietnam at the same time.

What do these people hope to achieve with their claims.
