Is Van Jones, Obama’s Green Jobs Czar a Communist? If you take him at his word he is. His official title is Special Advisor on Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation for the White House Council on Environmental Equality. That’s a fancy way of saying Green Jobs Czar that only answers to President Obama.
Let’s take a look at Van Jones for a moment shall we? A young African-American, Yale Law School Graduate, advocate for the downtrodden and all around white knight for the misfortunate; sounds like a top notch guy to have as an advisor if you’re the President.
There was a little incident though back in 1992 that some of you may remember. The Rodney King beating and subsequent riot that took place after the police officers were acquitted. Van Jones happened to be one of those who was arrested during that awful period. From a 2005 interview with East Bay Express:
Jones had planned to move to Washington, DC, and had already landed a job and an apartment there. But in jail, he said, “I met all these young radical people of color — I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, ‘This is what I need to be a part of.’” Although he already had a plane ticket, he decided to stay in San Francisco. “I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary.” In the months that followed, he let go of any lingering thoughts that he might fit in with the status quo. “I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th,” he said. “By August, I was a communist.”
It gets better, Van Jones Green Jobs Czar Communist (self-proclaimed), founded an organization called Storm. From the same interview:
In 1994, the young activists formed a socialist collective, Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM, which held study groups on the theories of Marx and Lenin and dreamed of a multiracial socialist utopia.
One of Storms projects was the “Bay Area Police Watch”, basically a bunch of thugs keeping tabs on the police and reporting “abuses” by law enforcement.
I guess for Van Jones, the best thing about being Green Jobs Czar is that he didn’t have to sit in front of Congress and be confirmed. Nobody can ask him questions about his past and his proclivity for trouble. Of course given the make-up of Congress right now, it may not really matter.
Obama sure can pick em’, tax dodgers, communists, anarchists, liars and thieves. But I’m sure Obama has no idea about Van Jones checkered past. So the question remains; is Van Jones Green Jobs Czar a Communist? I suppose you’d have to ask him, problem is nobody will.

Well, it sounds like he changed. He just didn’t change in the right way. I mean, if he were one of those revolutionaries turned conservative, like say David Horowitz, you’d be kissing his butt.
“Green collar” jobs. That’s a pretty creative thing to think of. I wonder if it was original with him? Blue collar, white collar, green collar. A pretty creative thing to think of. Smart guy, whatever else you think of him.

No matter what the guy is here to undermine what small business is doing without aid from the government. This ploy will not work. Private sector will decide on where and when green jobs will be added. This guy and his new position and agency will just be another leftist drain on our society.

wrong man for the job. They need an engineer from some place like MIT who has managed student and faculty research and development teams, published and spoken for green jobs, maybe an engineer with a public policy doctorate or along those lines so that he could be a “knowledgeable” advocate for green jobs and also develop methods for evaluating these new technologies in collaboration with others. IF you want to give a cause legitamacy you don’t want some political hack in there who is simply being given a sinecure. Big waste of an opportunity “for the public” here. By the way most of the rioters in rod king days were anything but committed ideologues. Why does the US so ignore what engineers can bring to the table in the policy area?

Los Angeles would have remained a tiny desert waystation if not for the engineer Robert Mulholland who brought water to the city from hundreds of miles away. He advocated for it in policy debates, got the public and politicians to agree, got it financed, and built it.

Seems odd that essentially the same article would be written on the same day.

Yes plagiarism, it’s really strange that two people would write about a communist who gives advice to our President. And on the same day for that matter.
Amazing!

well I listened to the video and I can see this guy is going to go over well with congress. I found his creative math funny. And his way of mashing Dr. King in with the green economy iced with eldridge cleaver totally hopeless for anything productive to come of what he says. But best of all was his lecturing congress like he was their boss. Then I heard congress laud his “great” speech with their “great” panel after only one person clapped. An absolute waste of money, travel per diem, congressman’s time per seat hour and staff, while the rest of us are working for a living. This is such a disservice to the concept. He is a good public speaker voice wise I think but bereft of any viable ideas and didn’t sound really into the true green concept. He’s got civil rights on the brain and what we need is a builder who does things fairly with great energy. Even a simple plan to develop a big new youth conservation core to maintain our parks and cities and borders where real skills of carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical trade work were taught to produce new skilled labor would enrich this nation for a miniscule investment. Why? Ever notice the high quality brick and masonry work on depression era buildings compared to the cheap unit flat construction of today? I am really shocked at the lack of ideas in this opportunity to address a captive congress.

Jones is quite the typical socialist activist, who have been using the “watchdog” theory on “police abuses” to continually deconstruct the authority of the law enforcement in the United States for years. There are many - like Jones - who, operating under the guise of the gravitas, importance and respectability of a law degree from Yale, have also been deconstructing the power structure of the United States (which has only made it the greatest country in the world), under Barry’s administration. God help us and save us from communists such as Jones, who I’m afraid riddle barry’s administration. Wake up, America!

I think I saw that there are now more Czars the cabinet positions. These czars are supposed to oversee billions of dollars in federal funding. This seems like a total circumvention of the Constitution to me. How are these guys even being paid. Man I’m so sick of politicians who have been in DC too long, why is no one up in arms about these guys.

So all the talk about BHO and his associations before the election were correct.(My mother always said “play with the nice kids”).
2012.
Either we take the Congress back, or this assembled “team” will get the traction they need to further their agenda.
SCARED YET??
2012. Be there, or you can’t imaging the irreversible damage they will do….
