The hard sale is on for Obama health care rationing! There is even a paid ‘grassroots’ human rights campaign that includes trying to sell people on this new health care plan, as well as other pet projects having to do with hope and the changing of America. Read about it below and enjoy a photo and a helpful video.
It seems the democrats are trying to push this through Obama’s health care plan just as quickly and with as little transparency as they have other massive government overhauls. Just like the enormous ’stimulus’ plan that has yet to stimulate anything other than increasing our national debt to never before heard of levels and the multiple bailouts of big companies that the federal government now owns and has put numerous people out of work. Just remember, it’s free! Free health care for everyone. Still no real acknowledgment as to how much we are going to pay for this free health care. But it’s free.
Just think of the oxymoronic ‘government efficiency’ of a completely government run health care system. A trip to the doctor would have the warmth of the IRS and the welcoming spirit of the DMV. A civil servant would listen as patiently and with as much insight to you explain your aches and pains as your average tax collector. Your telephone calls will be answered and your prescriptions doled out with the precise precision of an overcrowded unemployment office.
The Obama administration is only looking after your best interest! After all, we in Middle America are the gun toting, Bible thumping, bitter, unwashed masses he speaks of in whispers to his elitist friends when he thinks we aren’t listening. How can we be expected to make these decisions ourselves? Our health care shouldn’t be left up to us. We are too ignorant and selfish to know what to do. Our doctors are too greedy to be trusted with these decisions. So that rules out any decisions about your healthcare being left up to you and your doctor. No. The only answer is to make the biggest bureaucracy in the world bigger by having it micro-manage where, when and how often you can go to the doctor and receive treatment.
There is the chance that some fiscally conservative democrats might decide to actually listen to their constituents and the will of the people and vote against this plan.
If those few democrats end up being strong armed into cooperating with the government take over of our medical care, then we have health care rationing to look forward to. Just so you are clear about it, that means that some government somebody will make decisions about who lives and who dies, who gets treatment and who doesn’t and what kind of treatment they get. Some civil servant will calculate your age and value to society against the cost of whatever treatment you need. Whether you end up on the positive or negative side of those equations decides whether you live or die (or your loved one lives or dies).
Whoops. I forgot. We aren’t supposed to use the word ‘rationing’. That makes people upset. So we’ll have to come up with some other word. Oh. I know, we’ll call it human rights. Yes, people like the sound of ‘human rights’, so we’ll tell you that you can’t receive treatment for your breast cancer because of human rights. I guess it’s your right to die more quickly. I wonder if they’ll at least dole out pain meds so we can die a little less painfully or will they decide that costs too much.
The debate over health care reform in the United States should start from the premise that some form of health care rationing is both inescapable and desirable.
What is your life worth? What about the life of your child? Are you willing to leave it up to the federal government to decide what any particular person’s life is worth?
Of course, this isn’t about saving money. The Obama health care rationing plan will be more expensive than anything close to what we have now or can imagine having. We are looking at getting 14th century health care for many multiples of the cost we are paying now for the best health care in the world. This isn’t about money. Its about control. The more dependent on the government the people are, the more control the government has over us. It’s about enslaving the people. Its been done in societies since the beginning of time. The American culture has been different than most. People here have been free to make their own decisions, based on our Founding Father’s belief that people were capable of running a government themselves, without the interference of dictators or kings.
I’ve seen a thousand of ‘em, old and young, men and women. Seen ‘em all over the country and in the homes- people who try to make you weak so they can get you to toe the line, to follow their rules, to live like they want you to. And the best way to do this, to get you to knuckle under, is to weaken you by gettin’ you where it hurts the worst. ~ One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Obama’s health care rationing plan will weaken us all. I can’t wait for the paid ‘grassroots’ human rights campaign workers to come to my door! I can just seen these teenagers explaining about how one life is of more value than another.

It’s too late to stop it…it has already started. A week ago, I was informed I am no longer eligible for the life saving drug that I need while trying to treat my cancer. Funny thing is, I was approved for it last October…all that changed was I’m a few months older and the Democrats are in charge.
Sometimes, they really are out to getcha!

You have deftly avoided one enormous truth while performing your Henny Penny routine. Everybody dies. Everybody. That has always been the case. The difference in recent years is that we in the developed world are willing to spent huge sums of money and resources at the end of each life in an attempt to delay the inevitable. Nobody wants to decide against this on behalf of an elderly patient. Doctors soften blows and loved ones misread this as hopefulness. It costs huge amounts of money and it hasn’t kept anyone from dying in the end.
Have a nice day.

You know I think we have to stop caring about ourselves and start caring about Canada. Why because if obama gets healthcare past the Canadians who have to wait 6 months for a hip replacement will have no where to go, because we’ll have no doctors to take care of us like them.

I am currently enrolled in a government-run health care system (the VA), and I have government-provided health insurance (as retired military). These are my experiences: I signed up with the local VA medical center on 16 JAN. In March, the “evaluated” my current health condition. On 09 APR, they assigned me to a doctor (there was no choice involved). My first appointment with my government-assigned doctor is 20 JUL (only 6 months, 4 days after signing up). Also, I did not get to choose the date or time of my appointment, but I don’t DARE try to reschedule. I have seen my doctor that was assigned (not chosen) through the insurance provider, but they can’t help me, because my government-provided insurance doesn’t cover the procedures I need.
Don’t let the government ruin your healthcare like they are ruining mine!

Brian I hate to say this, but bravo. You get it. The cost will go up not down. I have insurance that I pay for myself. I like it and it is what is best for me. Obama wants to fine me if I stay with private insurance.
If you are on medicare and are in the hospital, they say you have to stay 3 days before you can be transfered to a rehab facility. Do you know what 3 days in the hospital cost. Medicare also will not pay for home health nurses.
But their are people that really believe it is a right to have healthcare for Free. Free always has a bigger cost then paying does.

martin - I’m not claiming the sky is falling over a minor incident. I’m citing the statements that are being made by the left and advocates of nationalized health care. This is what will happen should we find ourselves in that position.
Don’t fool yourself that it will save money. As Brian says, it will cost more and we’ll have less.
You state correctly that ‘everyone dies’. Of course, that’s true. The question is, who will make the decision about whether or not YOU or YOUR loved one is worthy of the medical treatment needed to keep YOU or YOUR loved one alive? Do children with leukemia get the costly care they need to have the chance to live? What about a healthy, active and viable 85 year old woman who has few health problems, but finds herself needing a heart stint? Does her age disqualify her for that medical procedure, even though she could live another 10 productive years (at least).
We could spend $1 million on a teenager who has to be in ICU for 2 months following a car accident. The numbers might add up to indicate that she/he is a worthy investment of the medical care. Then after spending that they have another car accident a year later and die Was that $1M wasted then?
Its easy to say ‘everybody dies’ until its yourself or your loved one that is having their medical decisions made by bureaucrats.
