About the Barack Obama first pitch, All-Star game 2009, all we can say is “Play Ball (girl).” See the embarrassing video of our heroic president of the United States attempting to throw a baseball 60 feet 6 inches while wearing San Francisco blue-jeans pinching way up his cheeky presidential assets. Yes Virginia, Obama throws like a girl.
Listen to Obama All-Star game booing, but more importantly let’s objectively evaluate his performance on the field where it matters the most. After the speeches and broadcast stunts, does a president with a girly windup really know anything about American sports? Or the economy?
There is a famous video of Obama’s staged visit to Afghanistan in 2008 in which he appears to sink a 30 foot basketball shot. No journalists were present to witness. We later found out that it took eleven tries to make that shot and a faux-video put out by the Obama propaganda campaign.
One month earlier in Pennsylvania, Obama famously bowled a 61 score including five straight gutter balls. The gaping jawed patrons and alley have not yet fully recovered.
Does it matter that we have a milktoast president who has never played the national pastime? Of course not. We elected Barack Obama to be the virtual girlfriend to every woman and boy in the country, a veritable channel for our insecurities and complaints. We elected him to lead us in a kinder, gentler direction, away from manly pursuits like war and baseball All-Star games, toward the pursuit of universal health-care, trillion dollar deficits upon our children’s backs, and Michelle’s alligator purse.
We love our president, while in the back of our minds we all understand he doesn’t really know what he is doing on the metaphorical field. Does it matter that Barack Obama has never thrown a baseball before, whether first pitch or last pitch? Does it matter that he is mortgaging your children’s futures by spending money we do not possess? Clearly no, for he gives insecure adults Hope.
See the Obama All-Star game video below. We hope the Obama first pitch is the last he ever throws on our television screens. Now go hide your kid’s wallet.

He does throw like a girl. Kinda reminded me of when John Edwards threw out the first ball at a ballgame - embarrassing!
You notice the camera angle didn’t show the home plate. I imagine that was planned as well - probably had TOTUS there to give him instructions while he wound up! Naw, just kidding. They didn’t want to show how far short he threw the ball.
Just for comparison - check out THIS first pitch by a president! Now THAT’s an American President!

The camera angle was due to security reasons mlb already said some camera angles would be different while president obama was in the stadium and someone said earlier that war and baseball make a man that’s probably coming from someone who never served ill let ya know what its like when I’m in Iraq in 8 months

Obama devoted his “sports” time to basketball, a game in which he won high school state title for. His skills on the court are well documented. And I didn’t hear any booing in the stadium.

I’m quite sure Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh or Mitt Romney are much better at Sports; therefore either one of them would make a better President than Obama.
Republicans dont ever raise taxes or use taxpayer money unwisely, and have brilliant plans to fix the economy, unemployment, health care, and global warming. Republicans have all the RIGHT answers to all problems Americans currently face. More importantly, Republicans don’t throw like sissies and know how to bowl.

@Seattle: Yeah I agree, I didn’t hear a single boo last night.
I thought he did a halfway decent job; apparently McCain was looking for a 93 MPH cutter on the black. The guy went out to the rubber instead of the front of the mound. He wore a White Sox jacket instead of some generic All-Star thing. And yeah, Pujols might have reached forward a bit and helped him out, but he didn’t bounce it.
It wasn’t GW Bush in NYC right after 9/11 — the best first pitch I’ve ever seen — but it was pretty well-executed overall.
(By the way, the game itself was fantastic last night.)

This is, of course a fluff piece but funny nevertheless. I do care about the fact that the guy probably has never been in a playground fist-fight in his life. Too bad. That’s where one learns how to manage a bully, teaches personal courage, learns about the effects a proper application of force can have and gains an understanding of when talking about an issue becomes a waste of time and that the area of contentiion will only reach a conclusion after one starts throwing hands.

Crewd, you are very bitter. You should be on cloud nine. Your community organizer is President, Liberals have control of the purse strings and are insulting drunk sailors everywhere with their reckless spending. Have you ever gotten a job from a poor person. When you raise taxes, you take away your raise at work.
Obama is a girly man and throw like one. The catcher had to reach way out to catch the ball.
And yes W knows how to throw a baseball and is 100 times the man Obama thinks he is in little mind.
July 15th, 2009 at 7:55 am
@George: It wasn’t so much that W “knows how to throw a baseball”. He lobbed it in pretty much like Obama did last night.
It was just the significance of the moment: NYC world series shortly after 9/11. It really was a hair-raising moment.

He does throw like a girl.
I don’t know how the mainstream media got the idea that Obama is athletic? Is it because he is African American? He played high school basketball, and was no star (uh….big whoop).
George H.W. Bush was an all-American athlete baseball player. Gerald Ford was one of the best college athletes of his generation. Reagan played football.
Since then, we’ve had a deterioration in athletic talent. Clinton was a dork. W. was a cheerleader. Obama? Throws like a girl.

Where were the boos? I didn’t hear any. Better change the headline on this article. Remember that Missouri only went for McCain by something like .1% of the vote and I’m sure President Obama has a pretty favorable rating at this time.
July 15th, 2009 at 12:24 pm
If you consider his performance at the helm, I think he threw the pitch much better than expected. Lacking any teleprompter nearby, not peeing himself is an accomplishment.

Raise your hand if you’re a fat guy sitting at a computer critiquing the baseball skills of a guy who’s actually successful at something…
July 15th, 2009 at 10:37 pm
ScoJo, you are partially right.
July 16th, 2009 at 5:13 am
@ScoJo: Hey I may have put on a few pounds since college, but I can still throw the ball about like I did back then. I’m playing in a Central NC Men’s league this summer.
I won’t blow anybody away, but I don’t walk guys and have a pretty good change-piece.
Besides, I may have been “critiquing” his performance, but my critique was largely positive.
