What if President Bush had Referred to Russia Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as president. No doubt there would be a storm of dumb cowboy jokes made about it. Well President Obama while kissing the boots and anything else needed to play nice with the Russians did just that on Monday.Obama said President Putin when referring to his upcoming metting with the Prime Minster.
The story is that last May Putin surrendered the presidency to Dmitry Medvedev to become the Prime Minister. It does not take much of a brain to figure out that Putin is still very much in charge. I mean if a community organizer knows, everyone knows.
But just to play along, foreign leaders have to first met with Medvedev and then with Putin. Putin is clearly calling the shots. He has been busy buying oil fields because he knows the world runs on oil. All other alternative energy sources pale in comparison with oil. Oil equals power and the more oil, the more power.
So after Obama met with President Medvedev, at a news conference, he read a carefully scripted answer to the question asked by a U.S. journalist, ‘Who is in charge here in Russia?’
Just minutes before Obama spoke about Medvedev’s objections to a controversial missile defense system being planned for central Europe. Obama said, “I suspect when I speak to President..eh.. Prime Minister Putin tomorrow, he will say the same thing.”
Wonder if President Putin I meanntook it as a compliment? Wonder if Obama is trying to make a way for him to be our prime minister when he leaves office in 2013.

Sadly for us, it appears that Obama’s poker skills are in the same league with his bowling and girly-style baseball throw.
Russia recieved much of what it wants before Obama even landed, i.e. council with NATO, so how would anybody expect Barack to gain advantage? Meanwhile, the Kremlin has failed even to comply with the terms of the truce signed with Georgia last year- continuing to do pretty much as it pleases.
I don’t see any reason to be doing deals with the Russians- they have nothing to offer the United States, IMO.
