Meet Sean Parnell. He’s been called a ‘competent conservative’ and he will become the 12th Governor of Alaska on July 26, 2009 replacing Sarah Palin who has resigned. Read his biography below, see photos and a video.
Sean Parnell, currently the Lieutenant Governor of Alaska, will be sworn in at the ‘Governor’s Picnic’ held every year in Fairbanks. You can read the official statement from the Governor of Alaska’s office here about the transfer of power. And wasting no time whatsoever, Sean Parnell has announced that he will run for Governor of Alaska in 2010 after serving out the remainder of Sarah Palin’s term.
Sean R. Parnell was born on November 19, 1962 in Hanford, California so his age is 46. His father moved Sean, his brother and mom to Alaska in 1973 when he was 10 years old. He graduated from East Anchorage High School in 1980, and earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Pacific Lutheran University, as well as a doctorate of jurisprudence from University of Puget Sound School of Law (now known as Seattle University School of Law).
Sean Parnell is a family man. He has been married to his wife Sandy for 21 years. They live in Anchorage, Alaska with their daughters, Grace and Rachel. They are a close knit family that enjoys running, hiking, fly-fishing, playing volleyball and soccer, and staying involved in their church and community.
Sean has been an attorney since 1987 and is admitted to practice in Alaska and Washington, D.C. He has owned his own business for a number of years, a small law practice located in downtown Anchorage.
Conservative politics seem to run in the Parnell family. Sean’s dad, Pat, was a member of the Alaska House of Representatives so in 1992, Sean was elected to the Alaska State House of Representatives. After serving two terms in the House, Sean was elected to the Alaska State Senate. His areas of responsibility included the Senate Finance Committee and as a member of the Energy Council.
In 2006, after campaigning on a theme of “Alaskans Free of Fear-Alaskans with Hope and Opportunity,” Sean Parnell was elected as Lieutenant Governor of Alaska, serving with Governor Sarah Palin.
On July 26, 2009, Republican Sean Parnell will become the 12th Governor of Alaska, replacing Sarah Palin who resigned on July 3rd. He will run for a full term as governor in 2010. You can see more photos and a video about ‘Sean Parnell, Alaska Governor: Sarah Palin’s Replacement’ below.

Following the surprise Palin announcement, website supporters are gathering across the nation to support Sarah Palin for President in 2012 can be found online at http://www.palin4pres2012.com
Our the website is in danger of crashing due to the flood of readers and supporters signing up to show their interest in a Palin Candidacy. The GOP establishment had better watch out, Sarah Palin and Ron Paul combined with the power of the internet will remove the stranglehold of GOP special interests and the elites who have brought the party to its knees in defeat in the 2008 elections.

I was wondering about a Ron Paul connection in the back of my mind. Do you think she’ll join the Libertarian Party?

Palin’s move puts yet more pressure on Obama to finally get some results, the soaring rhetoric isn’t hypnotizing the plebes like it used to.
This week Helen Thomas, Colin Powell, and Warren Buffet all turned on him. Polls are looking droopy for The One lately.
Obama’s porkulus program is a train wreck, all it’s done is bump interest rates and tank the dollar. We are being laughed at by bad guys like Tehran, Pyongyang, and Al Qaida who amazingly turned-down Barack’s friend-requests.
Palin could trounce him in 2012, when Americans would vote for the Gipper-in-Heels in drones- begging for lower taxes, free enterpise, and a defense posture with some backbone.
Go get ‘em Sarah-

So following your line of thinking Klo, can we assume that every Democratic Governor hires high priced hookers ala Elliot Spitzer,
or tries to sell a Senate seat ala Rod Blagojevich,
or circumvents her states own abortion laws to protect a late term abortion doctor ala Kathleen Sebelius?
You make it soooooo easy. That’s why your Klo-less.

Sarah Palin is a quitter.
She doesn’t even have the decency to complete the job she was elected to do.
Sure, it may be a good political move….to abandon your state because “It’s not fun” being a lame duck so she can gear up on her next political goal.
But them Did she think she wouldn’t be a lame duck like every other politician becomes sooner or later?
A lot of supporters spent a lot of time and money to put her into office. She’s betrayed all of them.
Not that Parnell won’t be a good Governor…but then she should have been campaigning for Parnell instead of running herself.
This is political stupidity.
Perhaps it’s just as well McCain/Palin ticket went down to defeat.
She probably would have quit the vice presidency half way through to start working on her presidential campaign.

Sarah Palin is making sure another republican will remain governor she knows if she gives aean a year to know the role he will have a huge advantage against any democratic this will prevent a democrat winning in her state. If she didnt step down and completed her term many people would vote for a democrat because Palin left her state for 6 months to campaign for the Mccain and for the VP. She left Alaskans high and dry and many pro-tested against her. So she realizes if her state went to the Dems she would have 0 change to win a presidency. But even if Obama is doing horrible and does not make it to his 2nd term I highly doubt Palin will be president. She turned into a media joke and will not be taken seriously.

I can’t help but wonder how Mr. Parnell’s view on wolves and wildlife in Alaska differ from Ms. Palin’s. I would hope that he is a supporter of wildlife and nature conservation.

I met Mr. Parnell’s father the other day at my work (Washington state, Jersey Mikes Sub Shop). Very nice man. Started a discussion on family and how important it is to put your kids first. Seems like sean parnell has taken after his father and done alot with regards to domestic violence. Good man.
He did order a strange sandwich though. Never though of putting ketchup on a turkey sub. Hey, if the shoe fits i suppose. Made my day, dont meet important folks every day slanging sandwiches.
