In Meghan McCain’s article for The Daily Beast entitled “Forgive Mark Sanford”, she bases her reasons for defending the adulterous Governor on being younger with a more open-minded view of politicians and sex, and that it’s of very little concern to her who elected officials sleep with. She feels that what goes on in Governor Sanford’s personal life, just isn’t relevant to his role as a public official. Blink, Blink.

In a nutshell, Meghan McCain suggests the GOP concentrate less on what goes on in the bedroom and more on what is going on in policy. Well “young” Meghan, who actually happens to be 24 years old and a college graduate, that sounds perfectly fine in theory. However, we’ve had the sordid details of Governor Mark Sanford’s infidelity laid out for us and it simply gets uglier every time he opens his cheating mouth.

So maybe he has done a good job representing his constituents and was, at one time, considered a rising star in the party. But using your reasoning, his narcissistic lying; his serial cheating; and consumate betrayal of the ones closest to him should not at all be held against him in the court of public opinion.

Is your thinking “young” Meghan, that just because he did all of this to his family, friends, and aides doesn’t mean he would betray complete strangers known as “constituents”? Are you also thinking that surely he wouldn’t use tax payer money to indulge his cheating? Or ever risk great exposure to blackmail because of his philandering? Sheesh.

Get rid of the bum South Carolina and lock the door behind him.
